Any of y'all have birds out there? I ask this because I have a bird. I have tried to find a "birdsource"...kinda like Mommasource/Mamapedia....I have only found one and its quite lame and "clicky"...

Any thoughts?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I should have asked my Q differently. I dont have specific questions about birds, rather, just people to share about bird husbandry.

But, thanks to everyone , none the less!!!

Well, good luck with that.
Just kidding.
I love birds. I've had them all my life, however, never a parrot.
First of all they are very big and messy and they really live a long time. You have to be in it for the long haul.
I know people that have parrots and I hate to say it, but they are kind of "clickey" about it.
Perhaps even lame.
Again, kidding, but I worked with a guy that called his parrot his son.
Okay, we all love our pets, but this guy would have to take time off of work if he didn't think the bird felt well and get this.....
He shared actual court custody papers and paid "child" support for his bird.
I'm not kidding about that part.
He was a pretty strange character in the first place and hey, we all love our pets.
Some people don't understand that you really can get attached to a bird. I have. I wouldn't pay child support for one, but.....
Contact a local veterinarian in your area that specializes in birds. I was so lucky to find a specialist. My bird got sick and they treated my bird so well.
A local vet might know of someone who shares your love of birds and can give you tips or talk about your stories.
Someone who gets regular vet care for their bird is a pretty serious bird owner and they might be a good resource.

Best wishes.

My mom has an african gray and an amazon. She's a bird fanatic! Did you have specific questions on birds? If so Yahoo Answers has a birds/animals section. Maybe google search for "bird bulletin boards" or "bird groups". Yahoo also has tons of groups I'm sure they have bird groups if you are just looking to schmooze with other bird lovers.

Good luck!

Have you looked up the vets in your area? Some vets take care of birds, and if you need information or help you'll actually have a real live person to talk to. A vet might know a good online resource for you as well.
