For years now, I'm having this pinching, sharp pain in my left chest area, right by the heart. It hurts and breathing is hard since it makes the pain worse.I know my heart is fine, I had it checked out.I heard from some other moms who have the same thing at times.
Do you ever experience something like it, does it freak you out ,too?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I was wearing a monitor last year for having really bad heart palpatations, I also had a sonogram of my heart and a stress test.
Everything was fine.I still have a palpatation here and there but not like last year.Could be entering the menopause world, which would be fine by me.
The cardiologist told me, that there is a nerve around the area that can cause sometimes pain...but when you have it and you can't take a deep breath it feels awful, doesn't it.
Thanks ladies for all your answers :)

You don't mention having ever been to a doctor about this!

Please get a thorough checkup and tell the doctor in detail about this pain.

It could be serious; it could be nothing; but you can't get it diagnosed on Mamapedia. It could be: Heart problem; muscle pain; infection; or a breast problem; or anything. Only a professional can tell. If this has gone on for years please do something about it.

If they have trouble diagnosing it, be sure to see your gynecologist and ask if it could be fibrocystic breast tissue. This condition means benign (not cancerous) lumps and bumps in the breast and can be very painful and frightening. Try cutting out all caffeine and see if that helps; caffeine encourages formation of the benign cysts. Many women have it and go undiagnosed unless they know to ask about it or unless a gynecologist feels a lump in their annual breast exam. But don't just cut the caffeine and wait to see what happens; see a doctor now.

When you press on the spot where it hurts, does it feel sore? If so, maybe you have the problem I had.
I had trouble with chest pain, and was diagnosed with costochondritis- here's some information about it:

http://www.webmd.com/pain-management/costochondritis

I took it easy for a while- avoided lifting anything heavy, had DH do the vaccuming, and I did notice a big improvement. My doctor said she would normally recommend ibuprofin to help with the pain and inflamation, but that wasn't an option for me because my stomach lining is messed up.

Hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon :o)

I had this problem many years ago in high school and was diagnosed with a heart murmur (mitro valve prolapse). The pain would be in the heart area and breathing would intensify the pain, so I had to take very shallow breaths until the pain subsided. I had a ECG to confirm the diagnosis. It is not life threatening, but I did have to take medication when I went to the dentist, which eliminates getting an infection. I don't know what tests you had to determine your heart is fine, but if you didn't have an ECG, you should talk to your Dr. again. Just my suggestion. Good Luck!

I get that sometimes and it turned out to be normal. I'm sure you're not going to run with that and not get checked out PLEASE :) Many things can cause pain in that area! A popped out rib can cause some wicked pain, along with heartburn. If you can swing it, just get an exam and they'll do an EKG. It's a very simple test where they put sticky circles connected to wires on yor chest...couple minutes and you're done!
