My daughter loves The wiggles. Anyone else have any stories of constant children's shows starting to make them a little crazy? This is just about the show and cute things children do, that's all.

What can I do next?

My 3 1/2 year old boys and 20 month old girl LOVE The Wiggles. I think they are great, my kids have learned a lot from the show. The songs get stuck in my head all day long. "Fruit salad, yummy, yummy..." LOL!

Max and Ruby! OMG...where are their parents? If I were Ruby I would have tied Max to a tree a long time ago! For all of you out there who don't have a sense of humor...I'm kidding...I would never have tied my brother to a tree. What makes Max and Ruby worse for us...my boyfriend's mother found out the little ones likes Max and Ruby and got her 5 DVDs, so now we have Max and Ruby on demand...talk about torture! I'm sure it'll pass...these things usually do.

She's the perfect age for a "Baby Faces" video. It's all close-ups of babies looking and smiling at the cameras. Your baby will think they're all looking at her! A great way to get a few minutes to get something done.

My daughter who is now 14 LOVED Barney. I don't think it was the stupid dinosaur as much as it was the smiling kids in brightly colored clothes who sang and danced. But when she was sick or not feeling well it was a lifesaver to pop in a tape (that tells you how long ago it was) and have her be amused so I could load the dishwasher. I got to know all the words to all the songs. She began to really like the wiggles too - let's face it - it's the same thing - bright colors, smiling faces and music. To this day, many years later I can still recall the words ("fruit salad, yummy yummy"...)

BTW -my sister in law told me infants love a smiley face - you can make a simple smiley face on a blank piece of paper and put it front of an infant and they'll smile right back at it! (We experimented - it does work.) No wonder they like these shows that will make you crazy!!!

My husband hated Little Bear, it drove him crazy for some reason when ever she would watch it. I have tried to steer clear of the shows thta I can't stand to watch. The one I find weird is Max and Ruby, where the heck are their parents? I just know that when we had sick nights and I would bring her on the couch to watch Nick Jr I was so glad that some of those shows were not on during the day cause they would drive me bonkers. There was one with hands with eyes that talked, totally wierd. I was glad she missed the Tella Tubbbies cause I couldnt do that one ;-) Hope your littel one recovers fast ((HUGS))

I didn't see how anyone was trying to make you feel like a bad mom. You sound like a great mom!
Anyway, my little girl was obsessed over Barney from the time she was 11mos until she was 2 1/2. We have 20 Barney dvds!!! We have barney and baby bop plushes, 23 Barney books... *sigh*. She's way more into preschool shows now, thank God!

Is this just about annoying children's shows, or how to stop the obsession?

I think at 8 months you can just go cold turkey and get her off the TV obsession. They like the sounds, but as far as the show, they are just getting in a trance on all the lights and flashing and movement.

My son is 2 and is CRAZY for Word World & Dinosaur Train. He could watch them all day if I let him.

And he is totally obsessed with Dinosaurs now. If you point one out he can tell you what species it is. Its really cute.

I have to say oobi. They are hands....seriously....I can make my own oobi show at home then. And they don't talk in whole sentences, that seriously bugs me.
I have to throw Yo Gabba Gabba in this too. Sorry but it gets annoying.

On a sie note...we're watching Olivia right now...that one I like. =)
