Can anybody reccomend a pediatric dentist in the Huntington Beach area. My almost 5 year old has had nothing but Traumatic experiences with 3 dentists that we have been to, Including another one today. My daughter is now petrified of ever going again not to mention me.
The last 2 were cleanings but this one was a filling and it was just horrible.
I would love the information on a dentist that explains him/herself is gentle and patient.

I have a 9 and a 4 year old. I take them to Richard Mungo, DDS. He is located on the Beach and Talbert. It doesn't get any better than him. I have worked in the pediatric dental field for 12 years. He is great. Both my girls love to go to the dentist. Good luck

Here's another one for you to look into...
Dr. Clara Lee in Irvine- she is right off of the 405 freeway. My four kids go to her and have had nothing but great experiences and it wasn't just cleanings. We went through some teeth breaking and cavities. The hygenists are wonderful too! The place is called Irvine Children's Dentistry

Dr. Santos Cortez is the absolute BEST!!!
He is in Long Beach on Los Coyotes Diagonal and Wardlow.
Not too far from Huntington Beach and worth it if your child is having problems.
The entire place is like an aquarium with playrooms everywhere! They are gentle and kind and all he sees are kids!

Hi K., I belong to a mommy group in Long Beach and it turns out one of the moms is a dental hygenist who started coming to the group when her baby was just a couple of months old. She is married to a dentist and the whole office is INCREDIBLY baby/toddler/child friendly. In fact, they recommend bringing the kids to your check up so the kids aren't frightened when the dentist looks in their mouth. When I went in for my check up, my toddler walked around the room a bit, then got up in my lap and watched while my teeth were cleaned. Anyway, the office is Dr. Pat. Emigh, on Bellflower and Atherton, in Long Beach near CSULB. Wonderful people! Good luck and best wishes. R.

I highly recommend Dr. Suelene Chen. She is young, super nice, and my 2 daughters loved her. She is on Beach Blvd near HB Hospital. Her office is high tech and really kid friendly. Her office manager is super sweet too. YOU'LL LOVE HER!

Hi K.. I don't have a referral for Huntington Beach, but my son Jackson was referred to Dr. Nick and Dr. Frank in Torrance. He is 5 years old. They, along with their entire office staff, are absolutely fabulous! Very caring and gentle. They talk to Jackson as he goes through his teeth cleaning, let him help them with the instruments, etc. At our initial visit, we sat in a room and watched a very cute short "movie" regarding the dentist. The office is compeltely set up for children. Jackson loves going!! If you do not mind the commute every six months or so, their information is as follows: South Bay Pediatric Dentistry (www.southbaypediatricdentistry.com). Good luck!

Hi K.,
I have 4 boys (6,4,3,1) and three of them have been to the dentist that we use already. They have had good experiences, including with fillings - our dentist is in south hb, at brookhurst and atlanta. Her name is Dr. Beanca Chu. Her office is small and the entire staff is great with the kids.

I adore our dentist. When my little one had a loose tooth, she wouldn't let daddy pop it out - she would only let Dr. Mark and his magic cotton pad remove it - she trusted him that much. Anyway it's Dr. Mark Goodfellow on Tustin Ave in Santa Ana....worth the short drive! Call first and let him know about the tramma she's had in the past and he will be extra gentle!
