I'm working on a proposal for my editor at Woman's Day called: Live Life Like You're Getting Younger and I'm wondering if any of you have tips you'd like to share with readers. Maybe it's doing a childhood hobby, re-reading fave childhood books, playing on the swings to build upper body strength etc., eating stuff that's good for you but making it seem like a treat etc. Maybe you've got an idea about how to stay young from your kids - those little energizer bunnies! If so please get in touch! Thanks! C.

My Gramma bought me the Laura Ingalls Wilder bookset when I was 8. I read it till it fell apart, then bought another set, it fell apart. I am on my 3rd set and reading it to my girls, 5 & 8, every night before bed. They're coming to know Laura and Mary as well as me!

I love to take my kids to places like the children's museum and to inexpensive family amusement parks (Bay Beach in Green Bay, WI is a good one). I have just as much fun on the kiddie rides as they do. My husband says we are actually going for me and not just the kids :) I also like to go to restaurants where they have games and rides. I play the games along with my kids instead of just watching them. We all have a blast!

Hi C.,
I try to stay young by walking everyday, thinking young, eating organic foods, playing with my two dogs, sewing, beading, decorating, listening to music that I enjoy, doing things with my girlfriends and helping others when I can. I don't think we ever truly grow old on the inside :) C.

Since I'm a child of the 80's, one sure-fire way to help me feel young again is watching great 80's movies (Ferris Bueller, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Sixteen Candles, etc.) and turning on some 80's music and dance around the living room with my 3 year old.

Hi C.:

I stay young by studying Tae Kwon Do with my oldest daughter....we will test for our Black Belts in June. As soon as my other daughters are old enough they will begin their journey to Black Belt as well. I highly recommend any Martial Art for a mom to stay young and active. Provides strength, balance improvement, endurance and self defense.

I think this a great idea for an article. I have two girls ages 4 and 15 and I need to keep playing young while being cool enough to talk with a teenager. I grew up with a little sister and it's fun to play with my girls the same way we used to play. Dressing up dolls, playing favorite board games, and outdoor activities, too like hide and go seek or tag. I think it's important to play on the playground equipment with them or lay down on the floor to play games. They really enjoy it more when you come down to their level. And with my older daughter - why not go to concerts and go to the mall to just try on clothes. We like to share make-up tips, too. Sometimes, just her and I will spend some time getting a pedicure. I refuse to grow old.

I love to play all games will my girls (ages 1 and 3). Just last night I hopped on their trike and raced around the driveway with them. We chased bubbles and even had a swinging contest. My husband said I was a nerd, but I felt like a kid again.

As I watch my husband with the children and see the reaction that he has with them, he doesn't try hard to spend time just sitting and watching tv or teaching them to play baseball. Going to the park and showing them how to cross the monkeybars and then teching the skills to them. I love to color and make forts on a rainy day, we race to the mail box and take turns reading books to one another. Taking time to just listen and hear the things that the kids talk about and joining in to the conversation as though we are life long friends. Singing to music and playing sports are what I remember most about my childhood and enjoy the same things with my boys keeps me young but most importantly HAPPY!

Hi C.,

What a great idea for an article! Personally I love dressing up with my kids and role playing - something my sister and I loved doing as young children. My 2-1/2 year old daughter especially loves pretending we're princesses and will do my hair and adorn us with 'jewels'. Of course I eat it up since it takes me back to my childhood.
