I had my son 1 1/2 ago and still have some belly fat. What can I eat or drink to help loose it and what workouts can I do at home because I don't have access to a gym?

What can I do next?

The best thing you can do for losing weight and your overall health and spirit is go jogging, find a stroller on craigslist. Then maybe do some ab routines with a video, if that is your target area.

As a FT working mom, I didn't feel like I had enough spare time to do exercise when my daughter was that age. Of course, running after her and picking her up all the time became a work-out in itself! So I started reading ingredient labels and cut out all high fructose corn syrup. I also refused to eat any fast food/junk food. I credit that to getting back to my pre-preggers weight.

However, there are some DVDs that feature mommy and baby work-outs. Like squats and arm work-outs while you hold the baby, etc. You might want to research that or develop your own mommy and baby work-out routine.

I too have had a hard time losing the belly after having children. My youngest is 7 months old and I finally found something that is helping lose the tummy since regular exercise didn't work after my other children. It is called P90X and it is amazing. I have lost 38lbs and 13 inches since I had my baby. Check it out: www.beachbodycoach.com/drwilliams. My husband is a chiropractor and he has a lot of patients that have started on this and are doing great. It helps you with exercise and there are recipes and all sorts of stuff. Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions.

What has worked for me is a combination of healthy eating and moderate exercise. Definitely stay away from as much processed food and excess sugars and stick with whole grains, natural foods, fruits and veggies. I love those 100 calorie packs too!

I'm really wary of any dietary supplements. I did Weight Watchers online and I take a belly dance class and lost 36 lbs in about 9 months and I have kept it off for almost a year.

I used to take belly dance classes once a week and practice at home. The class is great because it gets me out of the house, socialize with other moms and women and it's great for your mid section! I know take multiple classes, but 1 a week isn't too expensive most are about $15 per class but if you pay for the month in advance most places offer a discount.

There are also a lot of great shows on Fit TV, different workouts (even a belly dance one and Yoga). If you have a DVR you can record them and use them whenever.

The important thing is to find a type of exercise that you enjoy and that fits your lifestyle. My sister swears by this Marine workout which is a bunch of pushups and sit ups but it's only 20 minutes 3 times a week. Other people walk, jog, swim etc.

Just find something you enjoy, I'm sure you will lose the weight you want to, but don't be too h*** o* yourself it's a marathon not a sprint. Slow and steady weight loss is the best (1-3 lbs a week.) and if you are toning and building muscle you may not notice a difference on the scale but your clothes may fit better so don't let the scale bother you either!

Good luck!
