Is it reasonable getting paid 100.00 very week for cleaning a 4/3.5 house w/ 2 dining rooms, family room, kitchen, and patio area, living room. mind that 1 bedroom is full of stuff which is supposed to be used as an office,in the master bedroom the bathroom is under construction, and they want laundry washed , and folded, and put away. I've got to add that their are children involved and I am visiting now 2 a week to get things done . i can finish the house by myself in about 4 to 4.5 hours.i do some things one day and on the other other things, but I am the type of person that when I clean I clean. I can't just do that one day it is as if was to take a shower and clean other parts of my body.
How often are you cleaning the house each week? And how many hours are you there? If you break it down hourly it should really help to see. If you are getting below minimum wage hourly then heck no get more money! IF you are only there for two hours a week then its 50 bux an hour!! Totally worth it!
You need to find out the going rate for your area. Every area is different. To be blunt, in an area where there are people who are willing to work for less in "unskilled" jobs, it means that the overall pay scale will be less.
I don't think so..my mother's house, a 4/2.5 that is very organized and just needed basic floor cleaning, dusting of furniture and cleaning of bathrooms that weren't very dirty to begin with will cost $100 per SESSION! So $100/week (I am assuming that's cleaning 5 times a week) sounds abusive, especially if the place is messy, there is construction going on (which means your life could be in danger) and there is laundry to do and fold. My mother called several places, and $100 is pretty much the average. For a condo with 2/2.5, my friend pays $60, I have found people who will do it for $50, but I haven't found anything cheaper than that and that is just cleaning; no cooking, laundry or anything, so $100 for a house which is larger sounds reasonable, if the house isn't in chaos, of course. I am in Miami, and Miami's expensive in general, but that woman that charges my mother $100 has known her and cleaned/babysat for her for over 20 years, so I assume that rate is a discounted rate, wouldn't want to know what new customers get charged nowadays!

I just read your post and I am shocked that this is what they are paying you or will be paying you for all that work you are doing. That is ridiculous! That is no way too make a living or even support a family. I honestly suggest that you ask for more money or find another client you can work for. That is a VERY unfair amount for all the things they want you to get done. It's not fair at all. I'm sorry sweetheart but that is not a fair price at all. I wish you lots of luck with this and hope that everything works out for the best.
Hi D., I think that you are doing way to much for a little bit of money.Dont let people take you for a ride.I stay home now so i do all the cleaning but when i did work i paid $70.00 every three weeks.I have a 3/2 normal house no family room and not alot of things to have to move around and clean.Oh and no laundry i have always done that.I hope this helps.God Bless!!!!
This sounds very low. I have a small 2/1 with 1 living room, 1 dining room, kitchen and Florida room. My cleaning woman also does laundry and we have no construction going on. She comes 1 time every other week and I supply all cleaning supplies. I pay her $80 which was more than my last cleaning woman charged (which I'm fine with b/c my current one is much better).
Hi! I pay $100/week for a 4/3 house in Hollywood, including laundry. There's no construction dust, though, and the house doesn't get badly dirty throughout the week. My housekeeper comes over twice a week for four hours each visit. She lives somewhat close by, and I'll probably raise her rate to $110 soon. Plus, I've recommended her to two other clients already, and I'm sure I'll have more recommendations for her throughout the year.

How many hours does it take you? I live in Ft. Lauderdale and I pay $43.00 for 3 hours of cleaning. It is one person who brings her own supplies. My house is much smaller, 2 bedroom 2.5 bath.

Hi, D.. Are you cleaning that big house one day a week, or do you come several times a week, or is it every day? If you come one or two times per week, it is probably a reasonable rate of pay, but if you're there every day cleaning the entire place all day, then it doesn't sound so good.
Even if it's not such good pay, remember that jobs are very hard to get because of the economy right now. Maybe wait until things get better before asking for a raise???
