Need Referral for Pediatritian That Will Treat Unvaccinated Kids

I have chosen not to vaccinate my kids for many reasons. But we still would like to have our yearly, monthly basic care, etc. In trying to find a new doc for my 6 yr old, I was told this particular medical group wouldn't see him because he doesn't follow the vaccination schedule. Does anyone know of any doc office that doesn't discriminate against us? I'd appreciate any info

What can I do next?

I am doing delayed vax and my ped is fine with that but not unvaccinated. I did see on the Dr Sears site some info on a dr. that treats unvaccinated children, though I have not gone to them so I don't know how they are

Homefirst is very anti vax, but I went to them for quite a while and really did not like them. There was one doc there that was good, and she has since moved on. When I went for sick visits I always ended up getting the dr I didn't like who liked to lecture me on any health related topic that came up for quite a long time even if it had nothing to do with the reason I was there, and quite frankly made me feel quite judged and looked down upon. And I am pretty educated about most of these things and it really made me quite angry that he was making me question my judgment and feel like a bad Mom...I mean, don't we question ourselves enough without having someone else do it? While they are very BF supportive and antivax, I always felt it was dirty and run down and the care I got from most of the docs was not very good....and now I hear they charge extra for their "special" services. And although they have many offices, for me it was a really long drive as well.

If you do not have to specifically have to have a pediatrician we use Dr. Robin Purdy DO. He is part of the Centerga Health System in Woodstock.

I am not sure if your insurance will accept these, but here are some that come to mind:

Dr Minkus in Skokie http://www.yelp.com/biz/minkus-robert-j-md-skokie

I am not totally sure about this last one, but have heard positive reviews about these docs being more naturally minded.

I'm quite sure, Dr. Erin O'Brien and Dr. Jason Tjaden with Children's Medical Group in LITH (http://www.childrensmedicalhome.com/), will see kiddos who are not vaccinated. They are amazing docs as well!

homefirst has already been mentioned and that's current where i take my unvacc'd kids for yearly checkups and sick visits if they ever get sick. i avoid a certain doc (probably the same one the other mama is talking about) because he can go on forever about any topic in the name of education but it does get tiring -- but do really like dr. chapman who is still in the practice (though possibly on maternity leave or soon to be).

i believe dr. elvove in libertyville will also see unvacc'd children but i have not been there so i cannot say for sure. he has a family practice.
