Only one person hit on supplements. If you have tried out all the school medicine ideas and the docs tell you everything is fine with you, you might want to look at supplements. I was in that boat before. Ok, we all know how great exercise is but if one is so tired that you can't get started then that suggestion is not very helpful. Once I had started with the high end supplements I was able to exercise, not nap, not be tired all the time. Last summer I quit them because I felt so great, but then come fall I was hit with all the seasonal sicknesses, back on them I might only sniffle a bit while others have a full blown cold.

I'm a big believer in supplements!

I am also a working mom, but i only work at nights. if that is your case too, the best thing i can say is to get up and get going more. I have noticed that when i stay home i am a little more tired then if i am out doing stuff with the kids all day. I go to 2 playgroups aa week, the pool 1 day and if it is nice outside, my friends and i go to Pulaski park(on vogelweh) or donally (on ramstein). If you would like to learn more about this dont hesitate to ask. Reciently I have also started taking Hidroxy cut to boost my energy. good luck

Hi M.,
I am a mom of 3, I use to work fulltime with 2 while pregnant with the third. I had your same problem.

Now it's 6 years later. My kids are older. I started feeling more energetic after I had to start my own business which involved taking nutritional supplements. My life was stressful and I was always tired and depressed. One of the first things I saw improved was my energy level and I stopped being so sleep around 2 pm everyday.

So I said all that to say, look at your life, your eating habits. Do you get exercise? As I look at my life today, it is day and night where it use to be.

I am more happier, grateful and healthier than I have ever been in my life. I hope that helps.

I would first check and make sure there isn't anything physically wrong or different for you...is there any chance you could be pregnant? I know with each of my pregnancies i got tired earlier on.
As I see you are working with 3 kiddos, i know priorities get shuffled around, but maybe getting out with the kids while the weather is nicer may help. Also you may need to just find a little me/down time to help you center yourself. I have found that just taking 1 night a week and after I put the kids to bed I take a magazine or a book and take a warm/hot bath. Usually I only make it about 20 min before I am ready for bed or I get bored (that is just me though). I also have started ready 1 chapter a night in a book to help my body and mind wind down at night. When I do this, I seem to sleep much better and feel more rested in the mornings.

Hi M.,

I think that the first thing you should do is to see a Doctor as that could be a symptom for problems with your thyroid or even hypoglycemia which left unchecked can turn into diabetes. The other thing you can try is to put yourself on a scheduled bedtime so that you are getting at least 8 hours a night. I know that as Mom's we tend to stay up until everything is done and that can be pretty late when you work and have children to clean up after. Hope this advice helps.

God Bless,
L.

Hi M.,

It sounds like you're very busy. A working mom with three children.....How can you NOT be? Are you able to take any time out for yourself? How about just time to get out of the house, read a book, go to the park, or shut your eyes and listen to music? If you're smirking right now about how ridiculous theses ideas are, then maybe YOU NEED THEM!

Wanting to sleep all day is a symptom of depression, but there are also others. It all depends upon the person, and how your wanting to sleep all the time is affecting other areas of your life. Feeling exhausted is no fun, especially with a family that you love (and only two hands...haha). My advice is to take care of yourself, and look into counseling if you find that you feel sad more days than not. If you're feeling helpless, have little hope that things will improve, and are having trouble functioning at work, then maybe you need professional help. And, if you're feeling so low that you don't think you can go on anymore, please seek help immediately. I hope you have family & friends that are very supportive.

Remember that you're doing a fantastic job with your kids, and keep in mind that you have to take good care of yourself in order to take good care of them. Without you, they would be lost. So, don't beat yourself up....Life can be tough sometimes. Honestly, my hat is off to you! That said, you could have a medical condition that is causing your fatigue. Get it ruled out, and then try to fit in some "me time."

Hope this helps. Have a great night!

talk to your doctor. you could have a medical condition that causes you to be so tired. Look into hypothyroidism, especially if you also have weight gain or dry skin or hair loss, etc.

Have your thyroid checked. That is a huge sign that your thyroid isn't producing enough hormones. Do you notice your hair comming out much more than usual when you brush? It's an easy blood test. That happened to me. Good luck.

Hi M., My name is N. & I live in Mannheim not to far from you. I too went through this being tired "all the time". I did the best thing I could have ever done for myself & that was tell my doctor about it. She did LAB work on my Thryroid levels, & mine were way out of wack. I recommend to you to have this done because the Thyroid levels do infact control a whole lot of the functions that go on in our bodies. One of those things is in fact how tired we get if it's out of whack. So please go to your doctor & have it done checked.
Good Luck

First I would check with the doctor for anything that may be wrong medically, you work and have three kids I dont' blame you for wanting to sleep a lot! I don't work and have only two kids and need a little extra sleep. You may have lost focus on things though If nothing is wrong medically with you I would agree with the other ladies get out and get busy as moms we often forget to do the things we use to do before we got too exhausted, the weather is beautiful right now so take advantage of that, do things with and without the kids! I say excercise that is the best and makes such a great difference in how we feel at first you may feel even more tired but eventually you start to feel energized and stronger, I find this easy to do when you have a partner that will encourage you and you guys hold each other accountable for the excercise when I was in the states my cousin and I joined a gym and we encouraged each other to go and went together I noticed when she froze her account and quit going so did I and she started walking the neighborhood and so did I, so find someone you enjoy working out with and stick with them, I miss my cousin for that now that I am back over here! And if working out is not your thing find something else you like doing with someone...

I went through this last winter here in Italy. I found I was not getting enough exercise or drinking enough water. It sounds silly, but really I was a bit depressed and the walks I took, just little ones when I had a few moments between rain storms and increasing my water I think helped the depression. I really did not even realize I was depressed. I have since learned that depression does not really show up like a headach, it can be a sneaky thing. Good LUCK!!!

Does it get worse in the afternoon, and do your legs ache? I was having the exhaustion problem along with the aching legs and was told it's a circulation problem. I am sorry, I don't remember what the condition is called. Excercising, mainly Cardio and vitamin C supplements helped me. Vitamin C helps strengthen the blood vessels. Hopefully you can fit in at least 20 mins to 30 mins of cardio into your schedule, maybe at a park with the kids?

I have had the same problem but I'm not working. A couple of months ago I rembered what someone told me when I was a bagger at the commisary at are last base, when she is feeling low or getting a head ache she has some tea with honey. It also helps some when you have a cold and allergys I was falling asleep when I took the claration I decided to see if it would work in coffee to it does. A Tablespoon of honey. This morning I had some in my coffee it seemed to take for ever to get me going so I had some Tea and honey and I got all me house work i wonted to get done done (sweeping and mopping the floors what I think is the hardest thing to due in the house), and I'm still going strong. Pure honey works best if you can find it, what you can get at the commissary works.I haven't tried what they call organic honey yet.

I have one more suggestion as to what can cause so much exhaustion. I forget the name of the condition but it is when a person, while sleeping, stops breathing for short periods of time. Your body wakes up enough to start you breathing again. This is a cycle that happens repeatedly all night long. The person wakes up in the morning feeling tired instead of refreshed because you are not gettig enough REM sleep. If this is the problem there is an easy and doable fix the doctor can set you up with. So, a doctor visit as others suggested is really a GREAT idea! Don't be shy or embarrassed. Take good care of yourself!
