I am new to the New Lenox area and a new mom. What is there to do or where can I go on Saturdays to keep my child entertained, but out of the cold.

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for your tips, advice and help. We have been going to the different museums on the free days. My daughter loves playing in the mall. I was going to set up some play dates but now everyone in the house has Step that my daughter picked up from one of the other kids in daycare. After we are all better I think I'll try one of the mom groups. Thanks again.

Hi V.,

I am also a mom in New Lenox who works full time with a hubby who works 2 jobs. We have 4 kids ranging from 11 - 5 and I understand the life after kids concept. Have you looked into the park district? They have wonderful programs for little ones that you can participate in too. Also, they offer parent toddler swim classes for something different at Lincoln Way. The library has some wonderful classes too but they are more quiet classes and don't burn alot of energy.

Are you new to town? I was born and raised in the area so if you need help with anything in the area, feel free to email me!

Thanks!

Try meetup.com for some groups to join. As for activities in the winter... Exploration Station in Bourbonnais (35 minute drive down Rte 45 might be an option), Cliffords Indoor Playground in Loebe Rec Ctr might be an option (not sure if they are open on weekends), Jump Zone, Pump-It-Up although for inflatables she might be too young, Orland Mall by JC Penney lower level (playground) - tons of moms/kids/dads hang out there, those are a few that come to my head at the moment.

The library has story times. Check out the days/times online. The park district is good. Gymboree in Orland PArk had alot to offer too.

V., check out ... www.momurl.com/HotMommasClub/ ... it's a playgroup/mom's group in the Joliet area and we actually have quite a few members in the New Lenox area :)
