Of course! Don't they make a product for everything these days!!:) I don't know the name of it but either google it or go to your local CVS and it's there. It's just a nasty tasting solution you brush on. Hopefully she is young enough it will work. My daughter did the same thing at age 8 and nothing worked. It's a hard habit to end.She outgrew it thank goodness! Try to distract her with something else. Keep her hands busy and moving if you can. Give her a hobby that requires her hands. Play-doh,drawing etc.....Good luck!!:)

I can't rememeber the name of it, but you can get it in the drug store and it's totally safe. It's very bitter tasting so when they put there fingers in there mouth it tastes really bad. I'm sure the pharmacist will know the name of it.

Hi, M.
Yes, a friend of mine had success with the product that tastes yucky. She used it on her 3yr old. He was biting down to skin.
One point I'd like to make is that I have a 16yr old son who bites his nails. I had the dentist speak to him and not only did I already know that the underneath of your fingernail is the dirtiest but the dentist made us aware of something else.
He said that biting your nails could cause your teeth to actually break or fracture as they are actually a bone.
Good luck

You could try vinegar. I tried it with my son and he hated the taste. There is also something called Thumbs. They sell it in the drug store and it is for children who suck their fingers. Its supposed to taste nasty, but is harmless, but I would try the vinegar first.

M.,

My daughter went through a nail biting stage about 2 years ago. I went to Rite Aid and bought her special bitter tasting nail polish. I found it next to the regular nail polish. You have to apply it a couple times a day. It really worked for us, it did not however work for my friend. I guess it just depends on the biter. Good Luck!
