Mom, put him down, walk away from him, it is the best thing you can do for him and you! Is he going to flip out when you change the game? yup. Is he going to cry and scream? yup. Put him down with toys to play with and walk away, he will figure it out. It will take a couple of rough days, but you cannot allow a 7 month old to rule the roost.

Good Luck!!

M

Well, he's not spoiled, he's just a baby & wants the comfort of his mommy.

How about having hubby hold him a bit once in awhile?

Put him in a bouncy chair to get something done.

Have him in the living room w/you while you & hubby watch tv. Lay him on his blaket w/one of those infant mobiles above him.

For sleeping through the night, he most likely won't do it yet.
The longest stretch mine had at that age was 3 hrs (& 6 hrs if I was lucky).

Once I started him on baby solids, he started sleeping a bit longer.

But mine didn't sleep through the night for a long time. He always woke up hungry & no amount of soothing would work so I fed him & got my sleep much later when he was a bit older.

I have a 7 month old who I adore I also have myself husband & 3 other kids to attend to,not easy to do but you only have a baby once it will soon turn around where they are so mobile they don't want to sit still and be cuddle put baby in a safe spot while you give attention toyourself and others. In less than a yr. you won't haave that baby stage anymore which I will miss greatly..As for sleep I don't like the cry it out method so I would suggest that baby takes shorter naps during the day & offer cereal w/fruit or a bottle before or after bath time, and after bath do a quick lotion massage just with baby no other distractions cuddle & lay baby down while drowsy not asleep yet so for baby can help soothe himself to sleep, remember to keep baby warm before puting to bed or else baby will wake up & be to cold or to hot.I don't mind the not sleeping through the nights yet I woryr when baby has woken up my fear is SIDS.

At seven months old, they don't understand the word or the concept of spoiled. They need attention, not necessarily from just Mommy. Get Daddy involved in attention. Have him wear the baby sling and just walk around with baby close to his heart.

As for the part about not giving the others attention? Well, your hubby knew this when he signed up for fatherhood, so if he isn't willing to help, well, he needs to learn. It's not much different than baby #1, only since your other baby is 2, you need to spend time. Perhaps a story time with baby in a swing facing you, and your other one in your lap?

For night time, as I've posted elsewhere, a radio with soft music(I find classical stations work well) playing in the room at night helps with relaxing, as does massaging lavender lotion onto baby(your two year old prolly will want in on this, so be prepared!) just before bedtime. My son perhaps didn't sleep through the night, but he slept longer than I was told he would.

I am also wondering, how much time have you spent on yourself Mama? If you are stressed out, baby can tell, and will cling to you to let you know how much he loves you, and that its alright.

Have Hubby take him for an hour or two(maybe around the 2 year old's naptime so he's only got one to deal with), and take a hot bubble bath, or a dime-store facial and a cuppa with a good book afterwards. If you have time to recharge, you will feel invigorated and will look at this whole scenario with a fresh perspective.

Take care Mama!
