My 14 y.o. Has Excessive Underarm Sweating...

I feel bad for my daughter. She is an active teenager and is terribly embarrassed by her underarms sweating. She can put a shirt on before school and by the time she walks out the door she has sweat marks. She doesn't sweat excessively anywhere else. Just her underarms. We had thought about buying the new Secret Clinical...but I had heard that it can clog the poors in the underarm and cause some medical problems.

Has anyone heard these things...or, better yet, has anyone used this product with success? I want to help her problem...but, I don't want to create another one in the proccess!

Thanks in advance for your input!

My sister and I both have excessive underarm sweating and have been using CertainDri for about 3 years now. It is unbelievably amazing! It stings a bit the first few times you use it, but after a few weeks, there is literally no sweating...even when I lived in Austin during teh 110 degree summers. Neither one of us have had any problems, and once you've used it awhile, you can skip to using only every few days.

I use Secret Clinical. All anti-persperant is designed to block the sweat glands in your pores, but you put this on at night right before bed to build a stronger barrier when your body temperature naturally lowers itself. The only hard part has been getting used to putting deodorant on before bed as opposed to in the morning! It works GREAT for me. I have been using it for 6 months now, and I have not had any problems. I wish they made this when I was 14. I was always very self conscious about it. It would've saved me a lot of embarrassment and worries then! I'm actually amazed at how much more confident I am now just for this simple change. Excessive sweating was always at the front of my mind in any social situation - raising your hand, reaching for something at the store, etc. I would recommend it to anyone.

I just went through this with my daughter. We tried secret clinical, and certain dry but neither were as effective as the prescription Drisol. Check with her doctor or a dermatologist you can likely fix this easily.

I have the same problem. One arm worse than the other. The Secret clinical has worked for me. I have also used a prescription from DR, which did really good too. I would have her see the DR and see what they recomend. There may be a procedure that can be done.
Good Luck.

My daughter has the same problem. One arm is worse than the other though. She always wears dark colors because the sweat does not show up as much. We tried the Secret Clincal and it did not help her. She is now using Hypercare which her doctor prescribed. It has helped. I am not thrilled with her using it but the sweating was starting to interfer with her confidence and teenage years are hard enough.

that's the deodorant I use and it works great for me, or if your really concerned, you can take her to the doctor. They can give her a prescription for special deodorant that will really work for her. Some kids unfortunately enough have a medical problem that causes excessive sweating. Try the clinical first, and if that doesn't work out for her, take her to the doc. They'll fix her up.
