Okay this sounds stupid, but last night I took two motrin, and I felt as though one got stuck. Well I called a nurse friend of mine and she said it probly did if I didnt take a drink prior to swallow the pills. Well through out the night I felt it move and could taste it. Well its the next day I can still feel it and Its still there but futher down my throat!! I have tried drinking coke, water, coffee, and eatten breakfast and lunch It feels as if its almost there but wont go down. Its bothering me! Every now and then I can taste it. I tried to gag my self, it didnt loosen, I took my waterpic and put it on as high as it would go and put it as far as i could down my throat thinking that would dislodge it, it didnt. HELP ANY ADVICE!! I am scared to sleep thinking I might choke on it if it moves.

What can I do next?

Happy Anniversary =)=) And may you have many more... I know this may sound alittle strange but have you tried bread? Alone? Ormaybe even ice cream? I think at this point anything would sound great....I hope it goes down soon, it just sounds awful..Hope your day gets better...D.

I would think it would have already dissolved by now. Perhaps there is somethin else wrong?

Your mouth and throat have a lot of pre-digestive enzymes to start breaking food down...I doubt a pill would stay intact for that long. You may want to call a doc if you still don't feel right. Good luck!

Happy Anniversary! This always happens to me and bread seems to always work. If not just eating it you can roll it into a ball and swallow it. Good Luck. I hate that feeling.

I don't have any advice to help dislodge it, but please don't be scared to choke. The muscles in your esophagus move one way and that's downward toward your stomach. Not to mention, your esophagus is, in no way, connected to your lungs, which would cause choking. You have two pipes in your throat, the esophagus (leads to your stomach) and your trachea (leads to your lungs). My mom, an RN for 30+ yrs, always says, if you can make noise, you're not choking. I always keep that in mind, especially when something goes down the wrong way! Anyway, good luck, I know how irritating it is when something gets stuck in there! And Happy Anniversary!!!
