Mosquito Bite like Bumps

I've noticed over the last couple days that my 3 year old son has bumps all over his knees & elbows. They look exactly like mosquito bites but I know they aren't. He doesn't complain about them & says they don't hurt or itch. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any thoughts to what it might be?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So I took him to his doctor yesterday & he didn't know for sure what it was but said his best guess was contact dermatitis & had another doctor ____@____.com said the same thing. They said to use Cortisone on it & that if it gets worse to take him back in.

They could be spider bites or hives. Both have a similar appearance.

Ladies,

Hello, I'm a mother of three and a nurse who worked in dematology for years. Now I can't speak to your children specifically because I've never seen them but some of the condidtions that manifest in the way you describe are Eczema and Keratosis Pilaris. I treat kids with eczema through nutrition. It's typically caused by food sensitivities and low essential fats in the diet.

Please feel free to private message me if you'd like some help.

Wow! - I've never heard of this either, but my 4yr old daughter has this on her elbows. I don't remember what the Dr. called them, but he explained it like clogged pores or much like heat rash. Sounds like it will eventually go away and nothing to worry over. I have, however, changed soaps for her and seems to be a little better - but not yet gone. She doesn't complain about it either (not itchy or anything).

Good luck - I hope you find something that works for you.

Hi S.

Sounds like a contact dermatitis of unknown origin. Usually a steroid cream will help that.

Any chance that he recently had H1 or influenza or a fever-- my daughter had h1 and broke out with a similar looking thing from high fever all over her elbows and fingers. It resolved with the virus.

Hi S.,
both of my kids (5 and 7) have the same thing, I really don't know what it is at this point since my son is sick (fever) by my daughter isn't. I thought at first it was chicken pox with my son (even though he had the vaccine they can still get mild cases) but then when my daughter got it I gave up that theory. Let me know what you find out.
