Mops - Vernal,UT

Hello just wanting to know experiences everyone has had with mops..... I have a "Shark" Steam mop.. Which I loved when I first got it and thought it was amazing, now it seems like when I wash the reuseable pads in the washer they dont seem to come completely clean, nor do my tile floors. I can basically mop and then go over it with a towel and find dirt (a noticeable amount on it)
I have tried the Swifer wet jet and didn't like it much because it seemed to fall apart on me. Anyone have any similar experiences or have any suggestions on what might be better to use on tile?

Thanks much.

What can I do next?

I like my Eureka! steam mop. It gets the water hot enough to sanitize and doesn't leave puddles of water on the floor, either. It also had a long enough cord that I don't have to constantly unplug and re-plug it in. It is easy to use, light weight, efficient, and I can use an old dishtowel if I didn't want to buy extra pads (which it comes with 2, but you can buy extras for like $10).

And it isn't crazy expensive.... I think it was like $70?

I literally "fired" my mop. I feel that any mop, especially the ones marketed to make our life easier, just relocate the dirt. I use old-fashioned labor. Hands, knees, scrubber. At least it's good exercise!

My experience has been almost the same. I didn't care much for the swifter wet jet. I also thought the pads were expensive.

I'm loving my Shark. I also find that the pads just don't come clean. However, my floors appear to be clean. I'll have to try going over them with a clean white cloth to be sure.

I use a string mop. I got it at Family Dollar for $8. It's the kind that you pull up and twist so your hands never touch the water. All I need is a bucket of warm water, Washing Soda, and my mop and my floors are clean. It takes about a half hour and they are dry. Much shorter time if I use a small fan to dry them.
A string mop can be rinsed in bleach water to clean it and hang it up to dry.

Remember if your house if too clean your kids develop allergies.

I love my steam mop, but I still handwash my floors about once a week. I use the mop for "quick" clean-ups. Nothing beats a good old fashion scrub on your hands and knees.I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I honestly haven't found a way to truly get the floors clean that doens't involve hand washing.

Do you use fabric softener with your pads? If so, they can't pick up and hold the dirty water.

It may also be that you need to mop more often. Or wash the pads more often. I wash mine after every use. I air dry them.

I tried using a Swiffer mop and quit because it left a sticky sort of residue on the floor.
