Hello out there. I was just wondering if anyone has delivered a baby through Dedham Medical Associates of Norwood. My first two babies were delivered with South Shore Hospital and a doctor down in Whitman, but it's almost 45 minutes away for me and was looking for something closer. I loved the office I went to and SS Hospital, but just too far. Anyone? Thank you!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone on their thoughts and opinions. I did decide to switch my OB/GYN to Dedham Medical in Norwood and Dr. Ruehli! It's so much closer and hearing all your great responses about Dedham Medical's OB/GYNs really made my decision for me!
Thanks again!

I went to Dedham Medical Associates in Dedham but they share the same people. I absolutely loved my midwife Colleen and my ob-gyn whom I did not meet with as frequently. Definitely highly recommended.

I delivered my second daughter through Dedham Medical in Norwood...Colleen (the midwife) was wonderful...as was Dr. Faur who was on call when I delivered. Just so you know, they deliver at Newton-Wellesley. Hope that helps!

I went to DMA in Dedham and LOVED it! I had a CNM named Michelle Helgeson. A lot of people think that midwives are "hippie" but they're not. I still had an epi but thought that I recieved wonderful 1 on 1 care as well. I still go there for my annuals. I delivered at Newton-Wellesley and loved the Dr's and nurses. The Dr who delivered Genevieve was the same who was training under my ob. She stayed 5 hours late just so she could deliver my daughter. It's easy because my 2 yo sees Dr. Shusterman in the same building...actually right down the hall. You can also get your blood drawn in the same level as well. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Good luck!

Like someone else mentioned, I used Newton-Wellesley OB/GYN who have an office in Walpole and Newton (at the hospital). While their physical office in Walpole is not so fancy, they are AWESOME! My doc was Elizabeth Konig, but Eugene Aron delivered my daughter and Myrna Dolinger was the doc throughout my labor. All GREAT. I also must rave about the care I received at Newton-Wellesley hospital- AMAZING. I actually wouldn't have minded a longer labor (than 18hrs) because I loved my labor nurses!! (LOL) Also, my sister uses Dr. Shusterman (pedi) at Dedham Medical and LOVES him. She has 3 kids- ages 6, 3, and 2. I would have loved to use him, but it's too far for me. GOOD LUCK! Feel free to email me privately if you want more info.

I don't know about DMA, but have to tell you that I had a great experience with Foxboro Women's & Family Health and they delivered me at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, which was FABULOUS! I would highly recommend Sturdy, especially since it would be so close for you in Wrentham. My OB is gone from the practice at Foxboro, but I saw all the other OBs for various visits, and they were all great, and the nurses there are the best as well!

My doc, Dr. Eugene Aron has a practice in Walpole. I liked him and the rest of the docs in that practice. I delivered my micro man at Newton Wellesley - about 35 minutes from here. They were WONDERFUL, especially considering my guy's health issues. The nurses in Special Care were beyond fantastic!

Hi, D.,

I don't have an OB there, but my pediatrician's office is with DMA in Norwood, and I love it! Unfortunately, my individual pedi has just left, but the other doctors and staff are great. I would assume that the other doctors in the Association are just as good, but I can't say for sure. My OB is in Boston, and, while it's definitely a haul, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I ended up having post-delivery complications and thank G-d every day that I was in Boston.

Good luck!

Hi,

I use Dr. Chun in Walpole, and love her. She delivered my son back in November. She delivers at Norwood Hospital. I don't love her associate, though (Dr. Al-Jamal), so that might not be ideal for you, but since I have planned c-sections it was fine for me.

My old doctor, who delivered my first three babies, is now at Dedham Medical Associates, and I can't say enough about her. Her name is Dr. Ruehli. She is absolutely fabulous. She has two little ones herself, and delivered my first two daughters while she was 8 months pregnant! She left the Walpole practice about 2 years ago, and I was torn about whether to follow her to Dedham Medical, but finally decided not to, simply because I wanted to deliver any future babies at Norwood Hospital for the convenience, and Dedham Medical delivers babies at Newton-Wellesley. But if you don't mind driving to Newton Wellesley if you got pregnant, then I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Reuhli at Dedham Medical. If you want to stay at Norwood to deliver, then check out Dr. Chun. She's wonderful also!

Good luck!

Dedham Medical was awesome - especially Dr. Ruehli and the nurse practitioner.
