So funny that you ask because I just went to "Kids & Bees" today, hosted by the Texas Beekeepers Association. They said to look at the grocery store on the labels for honey that says that it is from a local source, and "raw". Although I'm sure you know they do not recommend giving raw honey to any child under 1 (or is it 2?), it's supposed to be great for anyone else! If you buy commercial honey, particularly if it is from out of the country, it's pasteurized, meaning that all the "good stuff" has been killed due to heating it above 140 degrees. You might contact the Acevedos in the beekeeper's association at ____@____.com. Maybe they could give you specific recommendations. Hope this helps!

Georgia's Farmer's Market in old downtown Plano (15th Street just east of Central Expressway)

I don't know for sure but Georgia's market in downtown Plano has a lot of honey. I don't use it so I don't know if it is "local" or not but she has a great veggie/fruit/plant market and a section with honey, jellies, etc.

Located West of 75 on 15th street. Just drive West toward downtown Plano and it is on the Right before the Dart tracks.

They sell local honey at both the McKinney Farmers Market and the Frisco Farmers Market.
