I'm getting bored w/what I've been feeding him and now he's eating more, any great ideas? I don't give him sugar or salt yet. He likes a lot of foods, just out of ideas what to combine into meals so it's different & 'new...

What can I do next?

Sorry but the info about peanut/egg exposure before 12 mo is not correct. The new information is that early exposure may actually help PREVENT allergies:
"The researchers suggest that recommendations to avoid peanut in early infancy could be behind the increase in peanut allergy in the UK, Australia and the US."

Our doc told us to expose our son to small amts of these foods to avoid allergies. Of course watch for any reactions and all. :) Watch out that you don't give too much, it could be kind of thick an sticky for them at such a young age. But it's safe.

I used to make meals for my son and grind them with an immersion blender. His fav was:
White/wheat pasta or a wild rice blend mixed with protein (chicken or tofu) and tons of veggies. I'd add milk to get it to puree well and season it to about half our level. My son really hated bland food so with our doc's ok I added seasonings and I personally believe that this helped to broaden his palette and at 27 mo he'll eat all kinds of diff ethnic foods. :)

Anything you eat, just make it really small. My girls loved Eggo waffles - sometimes I didn't even cook them. I guess the frozen ones felt good on their teeth.

Gerber Graduates are good and so are the Pasta Pickups.

My daughter loved the Gerber Graduate pastas but my son refused them, so there's not telling! I'd try them though, they were great for her and we used them a lot! I'd consider giving him what you're eating for dinner even if it does contain a little sugar and/or salt. It's much easier on you and it helps to broaden his palate for sure. My daughter refused baby foods at 8 months so I had to figure things out quick! ;)

Other than that, I'd say shredded chicken with pasta or rice, corn, peas, ground beef or turkey that he can pick up and feed himself, quesadillas cut up small, lunch meat, cheese cubes, yogurt, cottage cheese...that's the short list of my usual 'approved' meals!

We give my daughter (15 mos) smaller versions of our meals. Lots of mixing and matching.

Breakfast, she attacks scrambled eggs, pieces of whole grain bagel, and French toast.

Lunch: Organic PB and J on whole grain bread, cut up small. Stonyfield Yobaby Yogurt.

Dinner, finely diced pieces of broiled chicken, mashed potatoes or plain pasta, finely-cut veggies, etc.

We also supplement with Earth's Best baby food.

Not a big fan of Gerber.

Like Katie said, almost anything that you eat will work. Just make sure things are pureed or in very small pieces.

However, PLEASE do not follow Ellen's advice and give your baby peanut butter. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends holding off on peanut butter until your child reaches the age of three. Many parents ignore this and offer it at an earlier age, but I would NEVER give a 9 month old peanut butter. Peanut allergies can be deadly so I would hold off on that for awhile.
