Hello everyone My name is A.. I understand this is for the ladys but I have Lupus (connective tissue disease). I was diagnosed in January. The pills they prescribed me were killing my liver I went from a 32 which is a healthy liver to a 63. The pain is sometimes dreadfull and its always there . Well I try not to think about it much but its hard. This is very rare in men and would love to hear the different types of treatment that are out there for this problem. If it is one pill i think it will be ok for my liver but they had me take 12 a day.

Thank you ladys for letting me write . Hope to hear from you soon stay well.

A.,

Do you exactly what liver value is elevated. Some of the "liver values" are not specific for the liver. Other things can make them rise.

How are you responding to treatment?

I would certainly talk to your doctor about the values, what the mean, other treatment options etc.

I am also a beliver in acupuncture & chinese medicine- to be used in conjuction with traditional western medicine.

If you are in the Tampa Area- I know of 2 good acupucnturists- both trained in China. One takes insurance, the other does not but is also a MD in the US.

My husband has an auto-immune arthritic disorder & conventional treatment is not helping at this point, but the acupuncture is at least helping him to be functional.

Hello~ Doctors thought I had lupus a year ago, but it turned out to be a gland syndrome call sjtrogrens syndrome..which makes your glands very dry. A year later (now), I had major swelling in my ankles and they ran bloodwork tests and came to the conclusion that is was lupus! I heard there are specific tests to run just for lupus, which I don't think they ever took on me! So my question for you is that are there specific tests for just lupus? I am in the process of getting a second opinion from another dr. But my doctor now has prescribed me plaquenil. It is suppose to supress the immune system and make symtoms much less painful. Its suppose to also try to balance out the antibodies so they are equal and not attacking all the good cells! I dont know if I helped! I hope I did! I still dont know if I have lupus or not! I hope not, thats why I am getting a second opinion! I have nevere heard of lupus before now! Never! So I have done some research and have tried to come up with answers! I hope all is well and take care! And have a Merry Christmas!

Hi A.,

I am so sorry to hear about your lupus. I have a couple friends who suffer from lupus, and I understand it's no picnic. I wanted to write because I represent a product called Juice Plus. Juice Plus is nothing more than the nutrition of 17 fruits, vegetables & grains in a capsule. It is backed by medical research and the product's been around for 16 years, so it's no fly-by-night scam. My two friends began taking Juice Plus and have had very positive results, so I wanted to share. If I can get you more info, please don't hesitate to call me at ###-###-####. You can also visit my website for more info: www.lisamurphyjuiceplus.com. I will be happy to help you.

Sincerely,
L. Murphy

Hi A.,
I'm sorry to hear of your situation. I suggest, as some others have, that you change your diet to a clean, pure and very important, organic one. Get flours, processed foods and sugar out of your diet. Don't eat animal products and stick with fresh whole grains, veggies, some fruits, beans and you will slowly start to feel better. Do research online for alternative treatments for lupus.
You are correct, medicine will ultimately destroy your liver, which you need.
Drink fresh clean water too.
Peace

Never to Dr. Bruce West, Health Alert.
No sugar, no white flour, no preservatives, no dyes, no artifical sweetners.
Do these, and if you still need more write me.And do these first, DR. West is brilliant.
You are very smart to be worried. Well done,k

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I was diagnosed in 1980. First, it was Lupus and then "Mixed Connective Tissue Disease", a combo of lupus, scleroderma and polymyositis. I am not sure where you live but that does make a difference. Although many say it is not wise, I've been on prednisone since 1980 and am doing VERY well. I also lived in NJ and moved to FL. My prognosis back 30 years ago was to move someplace, minimize stress and try to get a good 10 years - or whatever life would hold. It is much longer than that.
I've been to two of the top docs in the US and have gotten some wonderful advice over the years which I would be happy to share. My direct mail is ____@____.com If not, the biggest thing is attitude and following your heart. Exercise, positive people, diet and having good friends and family.
Diagnosed at 23, I am now 52 and live a very full life. Best of life to you and I hope to hear from you.

Hello,

I have Crohn's disease which is also an auto-immune disease. For medication, I go every 8 weeks for an IV treatment called Remicade. It has helped me get in remission and has been wonderful! It does still pass through the liver but the monitor that very closely.

My understanding is that this medicine is also used for Lupus and Rhuematoid Arth. You may want to talk to your doctor about this treatment. You can even do a search for Remicade on the internet and find out more information.

Make sure to talk to your doctor about the cost of the medicine based on your health care plan.

Best wishes and I pray you have a pain free day!

A., lupus is an autoimmune illness that conventional medicine only treats the symptoms of. For real healing you will need to go an alternative/holistic medicine approach. That includes detoxification, nutrition, emotional healing, energy healing, etc. If drugs are stressing your liver you will need to boost your vitamin c intake and use silymarin (milk thistle extract herb) to regenerate your liver. You can visit my website at www.phinsights.com to learn more about holistic wellness. Often regular allopathic medicine does more harm than good - I don't enjoy having to break that news, it's like telling kids there's no Santa, but the truth needs to be heard.

Happy Holidays,
J. (see, you're not the only guy who visits this site)

Hi A.,

I am sorry to hear about your condition but there are natural things you can do to help it! First of all, you should find out what foods you have sensitivities to. Gluten and dairy are common but there are blood tests you can have done to determine what your sensitivities are. Alletess lab has one and you can do a search for them on line. Chiropractic and/or acupuncture helps and there are nutritional protocols to help with autoimmune issues. This is a quick summary of course but if you want more information let me know.

Best wishes
