Would appreciate a recommnedation for a new doctor in the FW area that delivers at St. Andrews Woman's hospital. My current doctor said he would dismiss me as a patient if I didnt pay him $612 that day for the delivery. I had only received the bill the day before. I charged the money but now think I need to find a new doctor..as this is not the way to treat people. Thanks so much for your help.

Dr. Mickey Hooper. She recently moved over there and she is great. ###-###-####.
Wow, all of my Dr's have said you owe X amount usually by 28 weeks so pay it as you can as long as it's in full by that date. I sure wouldn't have been able to pay that amount out of the blue. I've seen several really great Dr's in Ft Worth but unfortunately none of them deliver at the hospital you're wanting to use.
Congrats on your upcoming arrival : )
A., are you speaking of Andrews Women's Hospital at Baylor? If so, I can highly recommend my dr, who delivered my daughter in April and has been my ob/gyn for 4 years--Dr William Maxwell--his practice is in the professional building on site at the hospital. He is wonderful, very patient and caring and informative.
My obgyn is Dr. William Maxwell. I believe he is in practice with Dr. Tatum from a previous posting. Love him, and they recently moved to the new women's hospital.
If you prefer a female OB, I highly recommend Dr Catherine Maxwell-Hees. I believe she is actually the sister of the Dr Maxwell already recommended and in the same practice! Their group all practices at Andrews Women's Hospital.
Most OB's require you to pay your portion by week 28 of your pregnancy. You portion is dependent on what your insurance covers. I've had 2 babies in the past 2 years and had to do it with both. Hope you get it worked out or find a Dr that will work with you.
Dr. Benz assisted with my C-section (my OB, dr. Quist is not delivering anymore) and was the doctor on call the weekend I was in the hospital. She is super nice and if we have to select a new OB, I would choose Dr. Benz, or Dr. Laura Bradford, both of which were part of my original OB's call team. And, I always like to know they are capable in both the delivery room and the OR, in the event I ever need surgery (for me c-section is my only option at this point). Both are very good surgeons also. This is from OR staff and people that have worked with them "in action". Dr. Cynthia Robbins, who is one of Dr. Bradford's partners is also very good in both areas.
Dr. Carolyn Quist will deliver vbac for sure. Not sure about her payment policies, I had insurance...so can't even recall how that worked. But she is great.
Hi there! My uncle is Dr. Larry Tatum. He is one of the Dr's that opened up the Andrews. Look him up and give him a call....there are many dr's that are great in his practice!
