I am searching for a OB?GYN in the area that is caring, gentle and has a wonderful reputation! I've never failed before one this website...always receive VALID references and I'm hoping this will be no excpetion!
I have had 2 pregnancies (both births were c-section) and currently have the mirena (iud) in place. I'm really only due for my yearly pap but am interested in asking some questions reguarding my IUD. Anyone out there have one and can recommend a OB/GYN?! ]
I'm in NE Phoenix/Paradise Valley area and would prefer a Dr close by. Also, I would want that dr. to continue on as my OB in the case of future pregnancies...so I would like them to use a great hospital for deliveries!!! Am I asking for too much????

What can I do next?

Hi J.,

I would recommend Camelback Womens Health - Dr. Kathleen Schwartz or Amber Swanson - Dr. Schwartz delivered my daughter and I see Amber for my paps. Both are awesome and Amber is really understanding about things. They are located on Tatum just south of Cactus - ###-###-####. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving.

My Ob/Gyn is Dr.Lance Holeman at Cornerstone Women's Care. (40th st and Greenway )He is a sweet older gentleman and the other Doctor's in his practice are just as nice. I had an ectopic pregnancy about two years ago and he did an emergency surgery on me.(that was the first time I met him) Last October I had found out I was pregnant and I called his office and told them that he was my surgeon the prior year for the ectopic and they got me in right away instead of waiting the 2 weeks past when your period was due. They took really good care of me. His hospitals(the ones that I know)are Paradise Valley, Scottsdale Shea(love this hospital...I think its the best one in the Phoenix area) and I believe Scottsdale Osborn...I'm not sure about any more..I can't find the list they gave me.

I love my doctor, she is in central Phoenix, but she is worth the drive. Her name is Diane Spieker and her number is ###-###-####. I have been with her for all my pregnancies and delivered at Banner Good Samaritan, which is world renowned for high risk pregnancies.

Hi J.,
I can highly recommend you my own OB, she has her practise on Bell close to PV Hospital. She has been absolutely wonderful when I had a fibroid isssue. I am also a doula, childbirth coach and have had many experiences with many doctors. I don't have a lot of experience in PV Hospital, but the experience I do have is really good. I have helped a lot of parents having their baby in Scottsdale Shea, but that hospital has a very high intervention rate. Depending on what you expect from your care provider I can give you more specific recommendations. feel free to email me or call at 623- ###-###-####

I third Paradise Valley OB/Gyn. I see Dr. Donnelly, but Dado and Neuman are great too. I've been going there for the past 8 yrs. and Donnelly delivered both our girls.

Dr.Dado at Paradise Valley OBGYN. She is amazing. I had my first child with her this past June and I would not trust anyone else. She is knowledgable, caring, and delivers out of Scottsdale Shea Hospital.

The Dr's at Caring for Women are great! They are located at 40th St just south of Bell, across from PV Hospital. I have used them for all 3 of my pregnancies. Specifically I use Dr Scholten, but love them all! They have priveledges at PV Hospital as well as Scottsdale Healthcare. Best of luck to you!

I would highly recommend either Dr. Valeri Sorken-Wells or Dr. Nancy Harris at Arizona Wellness Center next to PV Hospital. They are both excellent doctors and I love the PA Heather Roth. They deliver at PV and at Shea (which I also recommend). If you're having issues with your IUD, I would advice to take it out and try the Nuva Ring. I had nothing but problems with my IUD, took it out 2 months ago and tried the Nuva Ring and love it. Good luck.

The absolute BEST OB/GYN in the valley is Dr. Andrew Carter at Valley OB/GYN. It is basically right across the street from Scottsdale Shea, which is not that far from you, and could not get a better hospital for deliveries...###-###-####.
Good luck!

My doctor just moved up near Scottsdale Healthcare but I would drive to see him if he moved to Yuma - he is EXCELLENT and has been my doctor with all 3 of my children. His name is Dr. Robert Newman - his nurse Mary is just incredible too. He is an incredible and very well respected doctor -- you would be in very good hands. Here is his contact information. Good luck!

Dr. Valerie Scholten is my top pick. She is with Caring for Women and is a great doctor. She was my doc for my first pregnancy/delivery and was fabulous. Her staff is great as well. I have sent many of my friends to her and they all told me how pleased they were. The main office is at Bell and 40th (next to PV hospital) and the number is ###-###-####. Good luck!

Dr Lance Holemon at Cornerstone Women's care is fantastic. The office is at 40th street and Greenway and is VERY nice. He's been my Dr for 12 years and 4 pregnancies (I'm actually pregnant right now:) He has a new women Doctor in his office- Dr. Pallapedia (sp?) and she is WONDERFUL as well!!! I wouldn't blink if Dr Holemon wasn't able to attend my delivery because I am 100% comfortable with her. You should really check them out!!! They deliver at PV and another hospital but I'm not sure which. I have had 2 deliveries at PV and both were great experiences.
