We currently go to Dr. Trainor at Carle Clinic. I have been very happy with him, however, because Carle does not have a preferred provider agreement with Blue Cross, we are spending a lot of out of pocket money. I think the time has come to switch. With three boys, I think they would be more comfortable with a male pediatrician. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi C. - I have been using Sugar Creek Medical Associates for the past 2 1/2 years and have been very pleased. I also have 3 boys and our pediatrician is a woman, Dr. Tillman. I would highly recommend her but Dr. Kramer is a male and is in practice with her. You may want to check with them on the insurance because we have Health Alliance so I am not sure about your's. When my son was born we had BCBS. We went to Dr.Kevin Kramer at Sugarcreek medical associates (affiliated to bromenn). We then had to change due to insurance reasons and we switched to Dr.James Zimmermann with OSF. Both are excellent doctors.
Not sure if I did the referral right, we have 4 kids all go to Zimmerman, Bandy, Toohill (We see Toohill). We have been going there for 8 years and love them. They definitely do NOT rush through well-checks and are thorough. They are Blue Cross providers (we are going through the SF change so I'm positive of this)

We are also leaving dr trainor with our three kids because we are now with blue cross. I will keep you posted on our search and the input I get from friends and such. We are considering a family practice dr. I just posted my question. Good luck!
