Go to Monmouth County Parks website and you will find plenty of parks in the surrounding areas. There is a great park on Red Hill Rd -Tatum Park. This park isn't too far from your area. I think the park closest to you is the Bayshore Waterfront Park. It's off of Rt. 36. I hope this helps.

A little about me:

Stay at home mom of two children Olivia 3 & Ryan 1. Been living in Middletown now for almost 4 yrs. Great parks!

I grew up in Keansburg but now live in Old Bridge/ Monroe area there isn't many parks in your area.
~police station has a park located on Carr Ave
~Forest Park off Port Monmouth Rd.
~I know when I was a kid we use to be able to go on the school grounds play area-tennis courts-football fields-baseball fields but im sure they put a stop to that.
~Also there is like a Y.M.C.A at the end of Port Monmouth rd (@ stop sign) going into Middletown/East Keansburg on the corner of Hudson Ave (I think).
~Thompson Park in Middletown I forget what street that on is on. But im sure if you look up local parks on the computer you will find something.
~ Holmdel Park 44 Longstreet Road, Holmdel, NJ
~Veterans park the one with goats & duck located on Middle Rd (I think) in Hazlet.
~ You can also go down to Sandy Hook & explore the beach but after Memorial Day it will cost you like 10 $ for parking. My son loves that.
~ Lawrence Harbor also has a park on the beach it’s not too far from you.
~and if you want to travel Cheese quake state park in Old Bridge but that one you have to pay 10 $ to get in to in the summer because they have a swimming lake that get maintained & life guards plus camp sites.

I hope this helps. I know my 3 year old son loves to walk and explore different kinds of places too. And if you need to find an indoor place to play on those wet days just contact me.
Have fun!!

Hi, C.!

Hazlet has a cute little park on Union Avenue. They have some animals there - chickens, goats, pigs. How old is your daughter?

Holmdel Park is very good. They have some historical homes there. Around 3 pm, they allow the kids to milk the cows! It is an old-fashioned working farm. The park is quite large. There are ponds where you can go fishing, too. And I think there are tennis courts there, too. There are trails to hike on, too. There are playgrounds and places to picnic there.

Thompson Park is in Middletown on Route 520, near Brookdale College. If you have a dog, there is a dog park section, too! It is a very large park. You can sign up for arts and crafts there, too! Lots of trails. They have a lot of activities there.

Those are my recommendations! I hope it helps!

Have fun!
