Looking for Dish Rack to Fit the New "Uneven" Kitchen Sinks

Feel silly here asking this but we just built a new house and decided on those stainless steel sinks that are bigger on one side than the other - guess its the "new" in thing now. Anyway, the bigger sink is the one that we use to put things in after we wash them in smaller sink - we mostly use dishwasher so its only on occasion that we put anything in there.. I've bought the large dish rack which is too big and the small is too small. Have never seen anyone sell a medium. What do other people use????

What can I do next?

We've got that sort of sink.
We rarely wash dishes in the sink since we use the dishwasher all the time.
We use something like this to hold the few things that do get washed in the sink:

Usually the manufacturer of the sink will sell them to fit with the new sink. When we renovated two years ago, I remember the salesman asking me if I wanted one to go with the new sink (Blanco), but I declined since I never used the ones that went with the old sink.

I think if you go to the manufacturer or their website, you might have better luck. Or you could get the dimensions of the sink and search on Amazon. You can find almost anything there.

Dish strainer? Are you talking about a dish rack that fits in the sink? When I think of strainers I think of a colander like device and dishes are solid so....

My husband and I live in the kitchen so I am pretty sure if I figure out what you are talking about I can tell you where one is. :)

I don't have an answer for you about your sink problem, but I do take issue with you opening your question saying you "feel retarded". Apparently, you've not heard that the use of this work in this context is very offensive...I think you could have come up with another word to describe how you feel.

You should try looking in a cooking store, or kitchen specialty. My grandma has uneven sinks too, and that's where she found a strainer that fit her sink almost exactly.

I've never seen one. You could buy a plastic pad for the bottom of the sink, the one with holes in it for the drainer part of the sink. That way it will protect your dishes while they are in there. Or you could put your rack on top of the counter till the dishes dry and then put it away.

I bought a 1/3 - 2/3 sink and had to get the manufactures rack. It was expensive but fits perfectly. So check the sink maker (is it Kohler?) to see if they sell them.

I do not have a dishrack inside the sink. I do keep a small one with plastic tray beside the sink and when I wash/rinse something out, I put it there to dry.

I have a cast iron sink and it is white. I found some heavy duty pads with holes in them that I keep in each side to prevent scratches, etc.

My rack and pads were purchased at Bed Bath and beyond.
