Looking for Couple's Getaway Not Far from Omaha

My husband and I are wanting to take a 3 or 4 day trip with just the 2 of us. We're wanting to find someplace within an 8 hour drive from Omaha. I enjoy nature and scenery and he enjoys the nightlife of a city. Are there any good getaway places that would accommodate both of us? I'm drawing a blank on where to go besides Kansas City.

What can I do next?

Chicago is great. You can have the city life and still hit the beach with Lake Michigan!! Lots of things to do. That is definitely within 8 hours of Omaha. The train system is really easy to use, so you don't even need to use your car.

The Twin Cities here in MN could accomodate both of you. Send me a message if you want some ideas. What about St. Louis? How far is that? They've got some great ethnic restaurants and music, but also a nice botanical garden and the Anheiser Busch farm attraction. Lots of history stuff to do there and a nice baseball stadium.
