I recently overheard someone talking about cocnut kefir. I'd like to know more about it and if anyone knows where to get it or how to make it. Also, I heard it is good to give to babies too? Is this right? I am trying to get in a new nutrition routine with more whole grains/foods, vegatables, suuplements, herbs etc...If anyone has any recommended books that may help me on this journey with my one year old son that would also be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi V.,

I think we have chatted about other things in the past. I study holistic nutrition and am very familiar with coconut kefir and have made it as well. I have been specifically studying the healing of candidiasis and leaky gut syndrome, in adults and children with autism spectrum disorder, through a very specific nutritional lifestyle that includes coconut kefir as well as other fermented foods, good probiotics, and specific foods that heal the gut wall.

It is a great food for your family and yes can be given to your baby. It is loaded with beneficial microflora that help keep the immune system strong.

I would be happy to share what I know with anyone interested. I can also get you the coconuts and the culture starter as well as a great liquid probiotic made with young coconut water.

My email is ____@____.com and my name is C..

My husband loved Coconut Milk. I buy it at either Wal Mart or Publix. Not sure if this is the same thing you are looking for.

You have to buy Kefir Starter from the refridgerated section in the health food store. I think Body Ecology is the brand name. Then you need fresh raw coconut milk from a coconut. I use the Thai Coconuts. They are sold in a plastic wrapper and are all white, they look like they have been peeled.
Any of those two items would be great for baby. Especially the coconut milk. I am also on an online yahoo group that can help you. It is called familieseatinghealthy.

Hi- I wouldn't give babies fermented things yet ( or raw milk) - talk to your pediatrician first and print out the label for the product so Dr can read it. I give my little ones a kids probiotic called Primal Defense Kids.
