Looking for a Rehearsal Dinner Space in the City...

We are getting married in October and I am looking for a place in the city to have a rehearsal dinner. I am not looking to spend a lot of money as we are already spending a good deal on the big day. Our rehearsal is at Fourth Pres. on Michigan Ave across from the Hancock building, so I was hoping to find something relatively close to there, but with my financial restrictions I know that might not happen. We have a pretty large wedding party, along with spouses and nieces/nephews etc it will likely be a party for 50-60 people. I don't mind something informal: we were originally talking about a BBQ at the house, but space is an issue and getting a tent for the yard along with catering will probably be just as expensive as doing it at a restaurant.
Any suggestions you might have would be much appreciated! Many thanks!

I would check out the pizza places downtown if you don't more of an informal setting. Maybe Pizzeria Uno or something like that. Chicago style pizza would also be a treat for any out of towners. We did Connie's Pizza for our rehearsal dinner and everyone enjoyed it. The price was right too. I think it was like 12 a person and inlcuded pizzas, soda, coffee, and tea. You could add on salads and appetizers reasonably. Connie's is probably further south than you want on 31st and Archer, but I would check out the pizza places for a good price.

We had ours at Gino's East downtown and it was great! I highly recommend it.

Hey M..
We didnt want to spend tons on our rehersal either, since the wedding was so expensive. We had ours at Giordanos. We did deep dish pizza, salad, beer and wine. Everyone seemed to have a great time and it was very casual. I know there are a few in the city.

You could also go to lucky strike downtown. They have really good food and then you can all bowl. A friend of mine did this at it was really fun.

Good luck and congrats on the wedding!
