My 3 yr old son gets a ton of snow between his coat and mittons...I know there are mittons with sleeves or just longer mittons, but I've heard some of them are incredibly hard to get on. If anyone can recommend a brand that they have and like, we would appreciate it!
We got the one from leaps and bounds. We just took off the inserts and they were easier to put on and still plenty warm
we bought the ones at the gap, they have the longer sleeves and they were not that hard to get on. They also have the ones with the bare fingertips and a a piece that will go over that, my daughter likes those better because when we go in from the cold for a minute she still feels like she can grab things.
try putting the mittens on before the coat. that way the coat sleeve keeps the mitten covered.
You could just do what my mom used to do....cut the feet off of socks and put those over the long sleeved shirt and under the gloves/mittens. Great for playing in the snow--you don't see them but they're there!
REI sells a waterproof pair that goes up to almost the elbow, are warm/soft inside and open very wide with velcro so are "easy on" for my 3 yr old (the best part). Pricey at around $20 but worth it. They were a miracle this past weekend!
Lands End. My 3 year old daughter loves them. Easy to get on. I ordered them last year.
I use a pair of my nice, warm chenille socks for the kids' mittens. Just pull them on before I put their coats on, they go up to their elbows and don't come off. their fingers have plenty of movement too. I dislike little kid mittens with a passion! I swear they were invented by some sadistic creature to torture already mentally taxed mamas!
