Little Surprises.....

When you want to give your husband a little surprise, just because, what do you get him?

Usually I will make his favorite dinner, or get him a little card that tells him how special he is. Again, this is not for an occassion, it is "just because". I am looking for some other ideas. I feel like I always do the same old thing!

So What Happened?

GREAT ideas so far! Love it.

I LOVE the having friends over that he doesn't get to see often idea. He would really like that.

I am seriously cracking up! Almost every suggestion would be something I would want and not him - starbucks, reeses, massage, etc. I am so easy to buy for! Lol!

Keep the suggestions coming ladies! What a fun Monday question!

Chocolates or his fav bag of chips and throw them in his lunch bag that he keeps his papers in and not a lunch. When he talks about coming home to mow the lawn have it done but don't tell him.

A quickie in a place/time he least expects. And we have two small kids- so it has to be quick. LOL He appreciates this far more than anything I could buy.

sexts! I will send him the occasional picutre of the girls. Or i will send him a quick dirty text telling him what i want him to do when he gets home or reminding him of some previous adventure we had. It keeps him grinning ear to ear.

I will arrange a surprise date night and line up one of the grandparents to watch the kiddos.
Drop a coffee off to him at work.
Let him sleep in ~ his favorite!
Get up with him on sat/sun mornings and chit chat with him while he's getting ready for work or secretly get up while he's in the shower and make his lunch or a coffee for him.
Clean out his car ~ he is horrible about not keeping his commuter car clean and it makes me crazy. Every once in a while I will clean it for him.
If I am out shopping and I see a t-shirt or shoes or whatever I think he might like I buy it for him.
Text him throughout the day/night (he works odd hours) to just say hi or I love you.

Great question! I've been wondering this myself. How about a car wash, or a massage? Pick an action movie (vs. a gal movie) for movie night. Set up a date with HIS friends (have them and their wives over for dinner or just dessert), you know, the people he says he wishes he had more time to see. Also, I think men always love homemade pie. It can be fun and worth the effort! (Or homemade ice cream). Get a babysitter and go on a bike ride together. Have fun!

We have Zune mp3 players...all 3 of us (dh, me and teen daughter) are connected on one account to get our music (thats the way it works...$15 a month for unlimited access membership for 3 people in the same household)...anyways...I send him silly or mushy lovely dovey songs via the Zune account. He loves that. Usually its a song I remember him saying he wanted to remember to look for to see if they had it..like an old cowboy song or something I wouldn't like. He loves that I LISTENED and that I bothered to search for it, even tho its not something I would add to my music collection.

I buy him his favorite Dove chocolates (hes addicted) and leave the bar or bag next to his Xbox headset...total guy time and a treat! He says its like permission to INDULGE and be selfish...silly guy!

I do the cards...mushy ones, silly ones, and funny "wanna do it on the dining room table (once we move the weeks worth of mail)?" type ones...I generally buy any sort of cards in a pile...I can never choose for birthdays or these either, so I have a mini-stock pile.

When any video games he might order finally come in...and I retrieve the email first (we have a joint account...hes not a big email fella)...I will go get it for him that night and not tell him....(as you can see..hes a bit of a gamer...not a problem here...I have my stuff too :-)

Hmm...can't think of any others right now.....

I buy him a container of his favorite ice cream, plan a date night for us where my mom can watch the kids, or go to our favorite deli and get a special dinner for us.

Other times I rent a movie or get one free from the library that we haven't seen yet. Make popcorn and curl up on the couch together.

And finally, sometimes I say, Sat. I'm taking the kids to Susan's, you're FREE - so call Jim and go golf!

Send him on a scavenger hunt to find the little something. Or a treasure hunt. Box in a box in a box in a box with the key to your bedroom HA !
Surprise him with a note to meet your for dinner and put it somewhere with some nice ironed clothes out for him to put on.

ADD ON : a little candle lit up with a sign that says " You light up my Life"

Sometimes I buy him on the following: a new game for the xbox360, new power tool, a cool new electronic, clothing, a man day at the salon, an in home massage, personal training session, either cook his favorite meal, order from his favorite restaurant, go for walks with him, have his favorite wine or beer chilled and waiting for him; one on one time etc or just whatever tickles his fancy. What I plan on doing here soon is calling in a personal chef to fix a romantic meal soon.

A secret "treat" of whatever sweets he likes (or savory), a hand written note to tell him how special he is - in his lunch box to work. Dont tell him about it, just sneak it in before he is out the door.

A sticky note on the shower mirror with some sweet talk or dirty talk.

A voucher for Sports Clips - where he can be pampered and watch the sports and get away from the kids for a bit.

A coupon book or loose coupons - hand made or computer made... of:
"foot massage"
"Steak, egg & Chips"
"back rub" etc.. whatever his favorites are.. and let him redeem them.

Dont make too many you will have your work cut out for you!! LOL. Then when he redeems them, say its a foot massage... you can have some alone time and you can woo him and tell him what sexy legs he has.

Does a little bar of chocolate, car wash, ear phones, and huge bag of chips show your husband you TRUELY love him? Is that a good enough to show him its "Just Because"? If you really love him, and want to show it to him "just because", there are many different EASY ways to do that were he will really feel SPECIAL! A warm hug, and a lovely kiss during the day for no special reason is a very strong factor. Give him a gift of night he will always remember! show him you think about him alot, and his happiness is important to you. Do that every so often, for its THE BEST and easiest way to show him (not for an occassion, but for a just because), how special he is to you!

These are things I've done:

1: He shares a birthday with Kim Kardashian and does think she's good looking so I printed off a color photo of her and put it on the back of the bathroom door, he laughed hysterically when he got home from work and used the bathroom.
2: Sneak his favorite treat into his car the night before so when he leaves he is surprised with a little something.
3: I clean the house before he gets home.
4: In the shower when the glass gets all steamed I write a message on the glass so then when he gets in, it steams up and he can read my message.
5: I surprised him awhile back by getting a babysitter then called and left a message on his phone to meet me at a certain address, when he got there, it was a restaurant.
6: I gave him scavenger hunt clues to find a present, at the end it was me:)

Edited - Denise.. My husband LOVES Reeses... I will have to do that for his next suprise.
