Hi Mamas,

Has anyone been to J. Space Center? My husband does not have time to take a vacation this summer so we thought we would do a short weekend trip. Where is a good hotel to stay at while you are there? What else is there to do in Houston?

TIA
Liz

Houston has so many fun things to do...as does Galveston and Kemah which are not far at all!!

Our kids (9+6 at the time) LOVED the space center. We were there for 7 hours and they could have stayed more if wasn't closing.

FYI - there are toll roads in Houston, they work with the Dallas Toll Tags..the charges will appear on your tags from here.

Have fun!!

Liz,

I recommend you stay in the Woodlands at the Woodlands Resort. There is a great waterpark there. You can go to the Space Center as a day trip.

we just got back from there a couple of weeks ago! Space center was fun, very busy so if you plan on the tram tour do that first. There are so many hotels close to there. On Friday nights they do fireworks in Kemah which has a cute little boardwalk with some rides, VERY COOL, about 15 minutes down the road. Also went to Galveston for the day, great beach!!! about 25 minutes away. here is a link for a Houston city pass well worth it if you like the things to do

have a great time!

We stayed in Galveston, did Moody Gardens and drove the 30 minutes to the Space Center.

We stayed a a great condo that had bunk beds built in for the kids.

My son and I had a blast there last summer. My son loved the Space Center. He would of stayed all night if he could have.

There is so much to do in the Houston/Galveston area. We stayed at Best Western that had been refurbished down the street from the Space Center. We spent a day at the Space Center and had dinner at Keemah on the Boardwalk (spelling and exact name may not be correct) at a restauraunt called The Aquarium. Also got to feed stingrays at a place downstairs from the restaraunt(I didn't persoanlly like this part but he and our friends loved it.)

We made day trips to Galveston (maybe 30 minutes at most from our hotel) and spent time at Stewarts Beach and Moody Gardens. Moody Gardens has a website. Not only do they have things like the World Aquarium in Dallas but they have a manmade white sands beach. There is a ton of things to do at Moody Gardens.
