I like my name. Always liked it. It's TERI I can't stand. Spent YEARS trying to get away from it. But you know what, the older I get, the less it bothers me. When my guy says it, it sounds pretty cute. I'm old enough now to not mind being cute, tehehe. I guess I felt like how could I possibly be taken SERIOUSLY with a name like TERI? Now I kind of think like, why did i even WANT to be taken seriously?

(And SH, I LOOOVED the name Susan when I was a kid. Named ALL my dolls Susan! Such a smart and sensible name!)

:)

my name is Carrie Jo. My mom was 19 and young and didn't think too hard about it i guess...it's a cute name, but it's not a very grown up game. I always wished when i was growing up that it was "Caroline Josephine" or SOMETHING - i felt like i had two nicknames for names :) now though, i dont' care...until you asked this question i hadn't thought about this in years. good question!

For the longest time I wanted to be a "Tamika" or "Shaniqua." You see, I am black but I do not have an "urban" name (and I admit this comment is blatantly racist but the clearest way to get across what I am trying to say, so sorry but I will have to be a little politically incorrect right now!). My friends around my neighborhood would tease me for having a "white" name and I hated it! I felt so left out.

Now, I am happy with my name. In fact, I have grown to love my name and many people like it too.

My mom literally got pregnant by the boy next door. She wanted to name me Bianca Nicole. She told his parents that, they had a FIT, said it wasn't a good "chrisitian" name. So she ends up naming me F. Odette. I like it because its different, no one heard of my middle name until the Swan Princess came out...me either for that matter. Anyway, the funny part of this story is I HAVE NEVER MET MY FATHER and only saw his parents twice...I'm 44. So, my mom listens to them about naming her ONLY child and then they are not even in our lives....funny....well, not really. =)

B.o.r.i.n.g. and it does not suit me.
Susan.
Bleh.

But I like my middle name. Won't say what that is, but it is cool.
Totally out of the box.

Don't know what I would rename myself off the cuff.

My name is T.. I grew up hating it and still don't like it much. I'd rather have a name you've heard at least once, not totally common either. I wish I was named Emma after my grandma!

I really like my name (the one I use here is a pseudonym). I have a strong Russian name that just fits. I would choose it for myself, first, middle, and last (I've kept my father's last name, rather than assume my husband's. - I'm really attached to it.)

I'm H., and I wasn't born on or near Christmas. I get the question often. My parents wanted another H name to go with my sister, Heather.

I would love to have a pretty name like Julia, my daughters name. I also love Olivia, Elena, and Ava.

I didnt like my name growing up. The "Molly Mcbutters" got pretty old and just down right lame.

I like it now because its not common. I did want my name to be Paige though. Good thing I had my own daughter and could name her whatever I wanted. Now she doesnt like it....lol

Growing up, I did not like my name.
I remember playing make believe...whatever-and I always changed my name.
I remember wanting to be Courtney and Brandy at different times. Lol.
But then I grew up.
And decided I am who I am.
I cannot fathom being anyone but E..
Little girls seem to get a kick out of it when DD says excitedly: "That's my mom's name!"

I see there are a few others with my name "H." but growing up I only knew one or two others with my name. I like it. I have always received compliments on it. I was born in August - but I always get people singing me Christmas songs with "H." in them this time of year - no big deal though. I like my name because it is not common, but not unheard of. I would not change my name but I love the names Emily, Grace, and Katie - too bad I only have boys!

I like my first name, but wish I didn't have a middle name. It doesn't suit me, and I don't see a need for it.

I like my name but I do not like it when people mispronounce it. It drives me batty because it is not like it's complicated. I understand(honestly not really but I can't nit pick)misspelling it but mispronouncing it, seriously? People tend to add a 'd' to it when pronouncing it or will say Mel-a-nia which makes no sense whatsoever.
