My husband told me that in his country, blue jeans are referred to as "Cowboys." So, whenever I do laundry he asks me, "Did you wash my cowboys?"

I was going to say dungarees too, but britches always makes me giggle!
My mom used to sing this song:

Jeans were often called dungarees when I was growing up. The word is an old one, derived from the name of a thick, sturdy fabric used to make work clothes before denim became popular.
"Britches" are almost any sort of pants except suit trousers (and maybe sometimes then). It applied to diapers just as well as to jeans. Have you ever heard the expression, "He's too big for his britches"? That's talking about someone who has gotten too prideful or egotistical.
