Hello
I have asked about this area before and got one response, so I am hoping that others can speak up as well :) Is this area a high crime area? Can you point me to a resource that
would tell me info? It is right across the street from the Ingram Park Mall. The place we are looking at is Retreat at Ingram Hills (KB home)no need to tell me about KB homes bad etc,. I have heard it all :) Just wanna know if this part of San Antonio is considered ok or not.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi M..
Here is someone who would be able to guide you to the area crime stats:
Bexar County Sheriff's Office
Gilbert Urias, Crime Analysis Officer
Email: ____@____.com

Here's another site:
www.fedstats.gov/mapstats/crime/county/48029.html

This is a good site to give you an idea of how the area closest to that area is:
http://www.hometownlocator.com/City/Balcones-Heights-Texa...

This one is for the Ingram Mall area:
http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/crime/stories/MYSA110206...

This site is for the Jefferson area, but they may have a contact number for the "cellular on patrol" for the Ingram area:
http://www.hometownlocator.com/City/Balcones-Heights-Texa...

I hope this information will help you.
Take Care.

its ok, not great, but ok. keep your door locked (which i do anyway) and check this site for sex offenders that live near you. watch your kiddo and just be aware of your surroundings (which you should do anyway). hope this helps.

you'll have to agree to the terms at the bottom before you can enter the site, but its free.

Call San Antonio Police Department, there is a website that crossreferences crimes in the area. If they say there is not and you can't find one, check google or realtors websites. And, call SAPD Culebra Road Substation...or stop by and visit. The staff in the substations are usually very honest about what is happening in the area they patrol.

I would guess that it is not high crime, but that there is crime. The police dept can tell you how many calls were made to a neighborhood and they may provide you with some more insight. I would look into the schools. Does that neighborhood feed into Holmes HS? Ask up at the school about the crime in the area and the issues that they face. Are you trying to be close to the base or the highway? What is the resale portential according to your realtor? Your realtor may also have some crime stats.
Crime is everywhere--focus on the schools. You can go on line to Northside's web site and look up the elementary school and the test scores and demographics.
