Do anyone know about Myelopathy of the Spine, and MS...they're almost alike in the syptoms that I have. Or what suggestions about them when I do have either one of them?

What can I do next?

Hi,
I don't know much about MS but I think that stress plays a role in both MS and shingles. I attended a stress reduction program at El Camino Hospital for depression and a stress related eye condition. I highly recommend this class. Below is a flyer that contains the information for it.

El Camino Hospital

Education Department presents:

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program

A Mindfulness based approach to Stress Reduction and Stress Related to Illness

The Stress Reduction Program is specifically designed for people experiencing signs of stress: irritability, muscle tension, feeling overwhelmed, burn out, apathy, restlessness, headaches, anxiety, fatigue, stomach distress, difficulty in concentrating, worry, over-work, substance abuse, smoking, eating & sleeping disturbances in daily life and want to promote healthy living.

It also complements the medical management of illness, chronic pain and stress-related conditions such as: Anxiety & Panic, Headaches/Migraines, Chronic pain, Sleep disturbances, Cancer, AIDS, Heart disease, High Blood Pressure, Asthma, Gastrointestinal disorders, Arthritis/Fibromyalgia and many other medical conditions.

This eight-week series consists of intensive training in mindfulness meditation, gentle movement and group support. The program is designed for people who yearn for more balance in day-to-day life, and it promotes healthy living, renewal and stress management. It is modeled after the mindfulness-based stress-reduction work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and featured in Bill Moyer's series "Healing and the Mind."

Mindfulness is the practice of cultivating non-judgmental awareness in day-to-day life. Mindfulness develops the potential to experience each moment, no matter how difficult or intense, with serenity and clarity. One can feel more alive and gain access to the powerful inner resources for healing. Participants learn life-long tools to help maximize life, even in the midst of stress, pain and illness.

GRADUATES REPORT LASTING BENEFITS:

Please go to my webpage and look into the AMBROTOSE.; with this your body is able to recover and rebuild the damaged cells, tissues, and neurons which should help with all the symptoms and allow you to build healthy stem cells that can give you, "extremely positive results". www.mannapages.com/o2bhealthy
you can look at the products and contact me if you are interested in further information as I would love to help you with your condition. I would also recommend you increase your water intake and look into a good intestinal cleanse be sure that it will eliminate the parasites and clean the mucoidal tract. when we have malabsorbtion issues a myriad of imbalances show up and our health declines. There is no reason to believe that this is a permanent condition. These products can greatly improve your quality of life. They gave me back mine and I've seen them change over 450 lives in the last three years. T.

Hi M.,
I don't really have any experience with these conditions. I would say listen to your doctor. Also, as a 62 year old mother of a grown son and 6 year old granddaughter, I have found that when I trying to do too much my body suffers. Maybe try just giving yourself some personal time. It may make a world of difference. Also, think about what is most important to you, not everyone else, and let go of some less important activities.
Good luck,
D.

I'm a certified Quantum Touch® practitioner and I've seen ALL kinds of physical things improved or cured (even a dianosis of "3months to live" by 3 separate specialists) That was more than a year ago and that woman is back to work now. The least thing that usually happens is that discomfort is reduced.

Please check out the Quantum Touch website for documented stories and to order a book if you want to learn how to do this healing method for yourself.

Checking your ph levels and changing to an alkaline producing diet will most likely be beneficial to you also. The fastest way to bring an acidic system back toward balance is by drinking the juice of a lemon every day. Please google "alkaline forming foods" and stay away from "acid producing foods" You may also consider doing an intestinal cleanse. Arise and Shine is a good product, check out their book "Cleanse and Purify Thyself." I also know there is a popular product put out by Isagenix which is a network marketing group (I'm not in it, but I know people who are getting a lot of benefit from their products).

Love, L.

Hi M.,
I may or may not have something similar going on with my spine. I haven't heard of Myelopathy, but 'cord myelomalacia' showed up on my cervical MRI results (just received them this past week). I have degenerative disc disease, arthritis, and spinal stenosis in both cervical and lumbar regions of my spine (had my lumbar MRI in December). The cervical MRI was the only showing 'cord myelomalacia' and osteophytes. The lumbar was the only one where I had lost spinal fluid from one of my vertebrae. They both had neural narrowing and flattening of the spine. I've had upper body symptoms longer than lower body. I've had a consult with a neurosurgeon regarding my lumbar MRI results, but have not yet gone over my cervical MRI results. I'll be meeting with a new neurosurgeon (for 2nd opinion on the lumbar, initial consult on the cervical) this week hopefully.
What are your symptoms? My upper body symptoms started a little over 2 yrs ago. I had numbness and prickling/tingling as well as sharp shooting pains down both arms and hands. I have permanent numbness in just the outer part of my R hand and the 2 little fingers; the rest of the numbness in my hands and arms 'left' and only shows up intermittently in a lesser degree than how it all started (thank God). I still get 'shooting' pains down the arms now and then -and have a very tight neck, although it is not often painfully tight, just now and then. My lower body issues boil down to excruciating pain when walking or standing, without meds (and even w/ meds, I've had to adjust to lessened mobility). I thought it was just a flare of sciatica when it started -that would pass eventually. I've since learned that stenosis doesn't "go away".
I found a health message board on aol specifically for spinal cord disorders last week. I'll try to add a direct link, but will also put the web address, in case the link doesn't show up when I hit 'send'. I think you might be interested in reading &/or posting on this health board.

I hope at least the board helps, if my symptoms are nothing like yours after all. Whether we have similar issues or not, I wish you the best.
I'm sorry about the Shingles, btw. I've heard how nasty that can be. Take care.
M. B

Just a quick thought--are you eating a lot of fish, especially canned tuna? I had a friend the doctors were convinced had MS and it turned out she'd been on the Southbeach Diet and was eating 1-2 cans of tuna a day and had mercury poisoning. After cutting out the tuna, her symptoms gradually went away. Good luck!

I have a mild form of MS. It's a very difficult disease to diagnosis so patience is the key. Hopefully, your neurologist either specializes or has seen many cases. It's more of a rule out process where they take blood work and conduct several tests such as MRI's of the brain and spine, spinal tap, evoked potential tests. Not everyone will receive a spinal tap but it was the one test that finally convinced my neuro I have it. I don't know anything about Myelopathy so I can't offer any advice there. If you do have MS, although there is no cure, there are drugs out there that help to slow down its progression. Good luck and might I suggest a website, www.healthboards.com. No one will try to sell you anything, this is strictly a support forum.

I am not sure what your symptoms are, as there are many for those conditions. But, my friend has MS and Fibromyalga (don't know the spelling)Anyway, she drinks a juice called MonaVie.. It is a juice derived by a fruit called Acai berry. It is the best.. She drinks two shots a day and this clears symptoms, of tiredness, numb legs, joint pain, headaches etc.

My husband and I sell it. It cost $40.00 retail per bottle, we sell it for $35.00.. The bottle last about 2-4 weeks.. You only need to drink 2-4 oz a day.. Look it up on the web: http://www.monavie.com/%5F/controller.html

It has made a difference in my life. I know it can help you too.

I hope all goes well with your testings.. Shingles will pass. My grandmother had them for about a month! She said they were very painful.

With Love
C.

I don't know if it is the only answer, but nutritionally, it may be a good thing to check out Mannatech products. Here is a link of people that have been helped. I know I would not be able to do as much with out it. I also have started addressing my acidic diet and try to eat and drink (alkaline ionic water) more alkaline. We all really need to take a look at what we eat. The body needs fruits and vegetables in much bigger quantities than we have been giving it. Years of physical and nutritional abuse have taken it's toll on all of us and aged us beyond our years.

I am a 57 yr old mother of 6 (with two teen boys still at home) and grandmother of 5. Also have loved my years as a Sunday School Teacher. Necessity has sent me on a search for alternative medicine. Who wants to be living a life of pharmaceutical drugs, they have no cure, just temporary relief that can morph into many side effects. It is just a downward spiral after that.
