Hello, Every year for mothers day or My moms Birthday we ask her what she wants and all she has ever wanted it Licac flowers. She has six kids and we have all definetly been a hand full for her. She is a very strong person and I feel that she should finally get the flowers she deserves, but there is one problem I can't get them here in Arizona. I heard I can get them in Flagstaff thats about it. Does anyone know anything? If you live in another state is there a way you would be willing to mail some and My sisters and brothers have all agreed to chip in and pay the price. Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to get lilacs, it would really make my mom very happy. thank you

M.

M.,
In Rochester, New York there is a world famous Lilac park, called Highland Park. I don't have the number but I am sure you can google it. Maybe they can help you. Martha Stewart actually did a show from the Lilac Festival either in 2008 or 2007!!!
Good luck,
R.

i have a lilac bush. unfotunatley it has already flowered and the flowers only last for about a week once a year. they are very fragile and probably wouldnt ship very well. but if your mother is a gardener or if you think she may enjoy a bush, i would be willing to start a cutting for you . it would probably take a couple of months to make sure it roots out and then i could plant it for you and send it somehow or arrange to get it to you. where do you live. i live in southern ariz but my son is going to go to college in the phoenix area and i will be making several trips there. he is on a cross country scholarship and is my last son so i will probably be going to some of his meets too. i think that if your mom is able to cultivate a bush it would be better because it is something that she could enjoy every year and remember every year that you all gave it to her. the bush that i have has been passed along for 6 genreations. it came from ireland originally with my great grandfather and he had gotten it form his grandfather. i have the only living one all the rest have died. please let me know. i would love to share. once planted and they get going ti is pretty much maintenace free. they just grow and you trim them a bit in the fall.

If you're talking about cut lilacs proflowers.com has beautiful ones. They are always very fresh and it's very easy to just order them online.

Maybe try Jackson & Perkins. They're most well known for their beautiful roses, but they also have a wide variety of other flowers. What's great is that they mail you the whole plant (usually bare-root) not just the cut stems.
