Hey ladies,
My son has a ton of legos that he builds with. I need some storage/organization ideas. I have tried the nuts/bolts/nail plastic storage container, but it is not as big as I need. Some of the legos are odd sized too. He goes to his dad on the 1st,3rd and 5th weekends, so I would like something he could take with him. Any and all ideas are sooooooooo welcome....:)

I have to add that I do have them in containers with lids. Maybe I am just anal in beleving that I could keep them more size organized. As I am going through them I am putting them in gallon and sandwhich baggies.
Thank you,
L.

What can I do next?

Try The Container Store they have very creative ways to store kids toys and will help you find a solution.

We are using a great product called a GoGoSac they are different than other sack type storage solutions because they are made from heavy canvas or denim plus they have the drawstring handles enclosed inside the GoGoSac that means its less of a tripping hazard for kids. You can find them here

You could check out different tackle boxes or tool boxes. They are compartmentalized so pieces could be organized according to shape, size, etc.

Here's a blog someone did with different ideas for organizing and storing Legos.

You could use several of the plastic wipe containers with the flip lid. (I know I have tons in my closet since I get a new container with each box of wipes from Sam's.)

I doubt he will take ALL of his legos with him when he's at his dad's. The plastic containers with the lids might be okay, or a beach bag. We have a kiddy pool, one of those small ones where we keep all the legos, when they are done playing we stick in under the bed. It was my husbands idea, but it works out well because since it's a flat pool they can find the pieces faster than they would on a container which is much deeper.
