Ideas for a 5Th Wedding Anniversary

Yes, I said "5th"...not "50th" (although, I pray we see that day too). A little over four years ago, my husband and I ran off with about 5 friends and got married. No family, no church, no reception (well - we all went to lunch afterwards). Anyway, we decided we would like to have a dinner to celebrate our 5th year. We won't be renewing vows or anything like that...just a nice dinner with dessert. Our house is very tiny. So, having a get together at the house is not an option.
We are not sure where though. We don't have a preference (restaurant or hotel). It's just that there are so many. I'm hoping someone out there can give me a good review of someplace here in San Antonio (or even why NOT to go somewhere). Food - doesn't matter (Mexican, Italian, American - no chinese). We'd like to stay in the "V" from downtown SA, between I-10 and Universal City (I hope that made sense). Even if someone knows of a venue - I have a friend that can cater, he just doesn't have that much space in his restaurant.
Should we have music? We seriously just want to invite people out to dinner with us to celebrate our anniversary. We're thinking 2 hours max.
We are looking at about 50 guests...some drink...some don't...some with children...some without...We'd like to keep the cost around $25 - $30 per person all inclusinve.
Thoughts? Anyone? Anyone?
LASTLY: Invitation ideas? I want more than a phone call...less than something ordered for wedding...

Thanks so much! Have a blessed day!

If you are planning on having that many people, you may want to think about the Crystal Ballroom at the Old San Francisco Steak House. My brother-in-law and his wife had their reception there and it seemed nice. The food was good, not 5 star, but good. Also you can rent out rooms at places like Maggiano's on IH10 at Camp Bullis. It depends on how much money you want to spend. Azuca downtown has great food.

I don't know anything much about places that you can rent for an afternoon or evening; but there are many computer programs that you can purchase (and they don't cost an arm & a leg) that allow you the ability to make your own invitatiions to send out. The program would also be useful for scrapbooking, making cards for special occasions etc. Doing it yourself does save money & makes it unique.
Did you take photos at your "run away wedding"? Photos of you 2 and your friends can be used as an exciting background for a one of a kind invitation.
Congratulations on your 5th!

I am a wedding planner and there are plently of places. There was someone who said Crystal Room. They only thing with that is the room rental. I know the owner persoanlly and unless you have it Fri/ Sun an off day for weddings it would be hard to get that in for budget. But wonderful catering company and place.

Here are a few places you may have luck with.

I would recommend doing a simple invitaion. Even if you make them yourself. I would have music even if IPOD or something simple!

Let me know if you need any more advice!
Good Luck!
