Hello! I am a single mom of a five month old baby boy and I am in desparate need of childcare. I have no job and no money and we are abou to be homeless and no where to go. I am trying to go to daycares and I am begging them to work with me but have had no luck at all. I have also applied for government help and its on their time and it could take you to three months. I dont know what else to do. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thank you and have a blessed day!

I would agree with the other poster. What if you got a job at one of the daycares? I don't know what kind of education or skills you have but I know that medical city of dallas has on site child care and so does presby plano. What about working as a child care provider for area churches? there are a group of women in mckinney that go to all of the area churches and provide childcare. Most of them average 3 days a week. Do you have any family/support system close by? what about the child's father? he should be paying you child support. If you're having trouble getting that you can go through the texas attorney general and have his wages garnished. What about WIC or welfare? food stamps etc...?? See what your local church can do for you. I know that here in Mckinney we have an apartment complex for homeless/low income people called samaratin Inn. I'm not sure of the details but you could probably contact trinity presbyterian church www.tpcmckinney.org for details. Good luck to you. M.

There is a day care on Lake Forest in McKinney that is hiring right now. If you come down eldorado from 75- take a right on Lake Forest..it's alittle ways down..right before you hit Virginia on the right hand side. I know that most daycares allow for free childcare if you work there.

Not sure where you live but if you're close to Grapevine, you might try contacting GRACE. Even if they can't help you directly, they may be able to provide some suggestions. www.gracegrapevine.org

Have you tried working at a daycare until you can get on your feet. Also, have you tried obtaining assistance through CCMS? They have reps at the Texas Workforce Commission.

Also, what hours are you needing care>

the Family Gateway is a charity that helps families with children when they become homeless. They provide child care while the parent(s) look for a job, job training, and counseling. Contact them to talk about what they can do for you or whether they can refer you to another source of help. the web site is: http://www.familygateway.org/ and the phone is ###-###-####. Talk to your church or find a church and talk. God bless and good luck.

Hi there. Where do you live. What area are you looking for care in? I have a small in-home daycare in East Plano. I can help you out if that is close to you.
