A few years ago I expericenced something that I would not wish on anyone. 2007 Two police officers came to my house with no justification nor warrant. Bust my door down until the frame around the door was separated from the wall and the deadbolt was cracked. When I went thru the legal channelst. The police department tried to cover this up. The only thing that saved me and my daughter 12yrs at the time was the deadbolt. The officers left and never made a report until two months later. I hired an attorney and he withheld the evidence from the lower court. He withheld the deposition for 9 months from me and thing thing s in the actual deposition was removed. Two weeks before the appeal I told the attorney I was going to the FBI. He said I QUIT. I have been working on this case for the past few years myself. I was granted 2 motions and prepare my Excerpts and Opening brief myself. I received a phone call from the 11th circuit appeals court one morning asking if I'm an attorney. Ever since then I have been put through every avenue but have not given up yet. On my appeals the courts stated in the jugdement: In most favorable to the plaintiff the Officer was unprovoked for busting the door down. In most of the plaintiff the officer bust the door down broke the door and gave the officer quality immunity. I am appealing to the U.S. Supreme court in D.C. and need your help Mama pedias

So What Happened?

I received 1 response and she wanted more detail in the case. I did send her a msg back in detail so she can see why I posted this Is Justice for all.
I am hoping I have more responses because this was hard for me to put out there to the public and all I am seeking is Justice from the U.S. Supreme court and now I can get the justice I have been looking for. Thanks

I mean, I'm all for the underdog, but I have to say, without more information, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Police don't just bust down doors for no reason.....
What was in the report that they filed 2 months later?
Sorry...can't help ya based on what you've written.
Good luck.

This makes no sense.

I can't believe I waded through half a page of gibberish and still have NO idea what you are asking.

Setting aside all of the details that make little or no sense in the early part of the story... it is just impossible that your case is being heard by the US Supreme court. That just isn't what they do. Period.

Also, I would bet dollars to donuts that NO court EVER has issued a judgment that included the words "busting the door down."

Not sure what advice you're looking for here, but it would be a lot easier to give it to you if you were telling us the un-embellished truth.

What harm are you alleging? If the officers made a mistake in the line of duty then yes, they do have immunity. The department should have apologized and paid to have your door fixed. That's it. Perhaps the courts aren't taking you seriously because you don't have a case. Also, it's practically impossible for a lawyer to remove something from a deposition since its recorded by an independent court reporter.

What justice are you hoping to get from this?
You want them to pay for the door?
You want an apology?
You want someone fired?
Did your homeowners insurance pay to fix the door?
What have you spent in legal fees on this?
So they made a mistake.
Maybe you should have taken it to the press.
It was a horrible experience but you are making the pursuit of this into a long term hobby.
If that makes you happy - fine.
But I'm not sure you are ever going to get a resolution to this that will make you happy.

I'm sure that was an unpleasant experience, but for me personally, I would want to put it behind me, not spend 5 years (and money) battling the legal system because of a broken door?

Your attorney quit, and you are really spending YEARS on this? When an attorney quits, it's usually because he thinks he can't win. Life is short. Unless you think you are going to come into a huge amount of money (which will cost taxpayers), I suggest you let it go and go and do something fun.

There's too much missing from this story to give input. After they busted down the door what did they do? What was the reason they gave you when they did it? What do you mean the only thing that saved you was the deadbolt? Saved you from what? What is your goal by going to the courts - are you suing them/wanting them fired - what? What did the FBI say?

What does this statement mean - On my appeals the courts stated in the jugdement: In most favorable to the plaintiff the Officer was unprovoked for busting the door down. In most of the plaintiff the officer bust the door down broke the door and gave the officer quality immunity. --This paragraph is not comprehensible.

More info. will help with getting quality responses.

The police tried to cover up WHAT? The lawyer hid evidence of WHAT?
Are you seriously telling us, that you were going to hit up the FBI...over a BUSTED DOOR? The Supreme Court for a BUSTED DOOR?

You know doors are inexpensive, right? So, they tried to bust in your door, obviously by a mistake. OK. You have been spending your energy, time, presumably money...over a BUSTED DOOR. Can I emphasize that enough? A BUSTED DOOR.

For the love of God, let this go. How is this even worth it? What a stupid thing to waste your life on. Justice for a DOOR? From the Supreme Court? Can you not understand how petty, crazy, and totally ridiculous that sounds? For years, you've been wasting your time over a door. You have to realize that seems completely nuts. Aside from your completely unintelligible "question," of course. From top to bottom this post is out there.

Perhaps you should seek some therapy to get over what was apparently a traumatic day in your life. Clogging up the court system with this is only a way to waste time and money, for both you and the courts. Let people that actually need some justice have a chance.

It is very difficult to read your post and get an idea of what you are talking about. One long paragraph with bits and pieces of info.

For starters, law enforcement does not come knock down doors without reason. So, either they had a valid reason for coming to your home OR they mistakenly came to your home.

Do you have information that can be validated such as case numbers, who you spoke with and when, etc. You need documentation and you need a good attorney.

This happened in 2007? Why are you still fighting and holding the grudge? If everyone is ok then let it go and move on with your life instead of living your life in anger and determined to get revenge on someone.

Good luck.

Even after reading all the respnses I don't have any idea as to what you want from us, or really what you are talking about. Could you please give us more information and write more clearly? I doubt, based on your foggy, unitelligable writing that the Supremem Court will take this on, frankly.

Hi S., Are their Case numbers (along with the name of the court) for the court hearings you've been through? The documents and sometimes the audio of the hearings can sometimes be found online. You are a brave person and sometimes it takes getting to the upper courst to get justice. Is there anyway you can have a lawyer look at this? Pro Bono? I completely understand your wanting to do this yourself. I childhood friend was wrongly accused of a crime. It bankrupted her family defending her. They were finally able to find a lawyer who took the case pro bono and successfully defended her but MAN what an ordeal.

It sounds like the appeals court did agree that this was unprovoked? Did it state why they gave the officer immunity? It's probably a lot to explain, that's why I asked for the courts and case numbers.

S., did they come to the wrong address? Are they trying to work on a federal case, perhaps with someone who is supposed to go in front of a jury and testify against drug lords or something?

There's a reason they did it. You don't know the reason yet?

The truth is, none of us can help you. There's no point in coming to MP about it looking for help. We can tell you that we are very sorry that you and your daughter went through this. If you can't afford to live in a better neighborhood than this, I'm very sorry for that, too.

I hope you didn't have to pay this lawyer - he doesn't deserve to be compensated for his time.

All my best,
Dawn
