I Destroy Earbuds... What Do You Destroy?

Sunglasses (at least 3 pairs per year)
Work bags (at least 2 per school year)
Lunch boxes (at least 3 per year by leaving or leaking food in them. I could clean them out, but I tend to just get grossed out and toss them)

My kids will tell you anything I touch. Microwaves, dishwashers...I'm an equal opportunity 'breaker'.

Breaking wine glasses. I just broke another last night (don't judge, I had a long day at work!)

They are just so top heavy those wine glasses. Its not that I myself am tipsy and breaking them (I swear!) but I tend to carry my vino from room to room and set it down in weird places. Then I reach for a paper towel or something and OOPS thats right I set it there when I put it down to get the salt and pepper....

I have two left from the 8 I bought about 5 years ago.

Sunglasses. I can't tell you how many pairs of sunglasses I break in a year.

Manicures! They last about 6 hours on a good day and then they are wrecked. It is usually my fault - I smudge; I get inspired to do heavy duty house cleaning; they just chip for no good reason.

I also have issues with pants. Does this happen to anyone else? Within the first wear, they get fuzz balls near the inner thighs and they eventually wear down to threads. I always get holes in the inner thighs. Darn my big thighs. At least my husband likes them...

Anything with a screen - phones, ipods, and kindles. I've ended up having to buy the expensive klutz protection insurance on all my electronics because of my clumsiness. My kids won't let me near their Nintendo DS, and I can't say that I blame them.

Other than that I'm pretty lucky. I seem to only break expensive stuff.

Heels! (see my previous post - lol) After 6 months, you'd swear I just ram my foot repeatedly into the ground with the tip or heel.

Can openers and Coffee machines. Can openers are replaced almost monthly and doesn't matter what brand I buy. Coffee makers at the least yearly but sometimes every six months.

I should own stock in headphones, not because I ruin them but with 8 kids we go through many, many pairs per month.

Packages. Of all kinds, shapes and sizes. I can destroy a brand new cereal box. Gift boxes are a 1 time use only item for me. My husband calls me "package destroyer".
Why are packages so aggravating? I can't be the only one that finds packaging so annoying. Getting into something shouldn't be so hard and fill me with such rage. lol

Phone cases....I drop my phone a lot. In fact during a period in which I didn't have a phone cover on my phone (because it was broken) I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. But before dropping my phone and cracking the screen I went through 3 phone cases!!! UGH!!

Galway Girl- I was going to write the Exact.Same. Thing. About computers!! Haaahaaaa xD

My daughter is like you and needs new earbuds almost every 3 months because she sleeps with them and damages the wire leading into the bud itself. My husband destroys my dustpan brushes since he uses them around the wood burning stove and melts the nylon bristles. My youngest destroys mechanical pencils so we buy the zebra kind in a pack with about 30 in them.
I've not destroyed so many thing but I have unfortunately thrown out lots of paring knives that I use for peeling and cutting potatoes and fruits. I have gone to buying them at the grocery store in bunches where they sometimes go on sale for $1 each.

kitchen timers. All brands and styles. And they break in different ways. Some just stop working, others have pieces fall off.

And plants. My son calls my house "death row" for potted plants.

My watches don't last too long on me.
The batteries only last like 1 year or less. But everyone else I know, has had the SAME battery in their watch from the time they bought it. So way over 1 year.
So I don't even wear watches now.
So I had this one watch, with a GOOD battery in it. Not old. It was fairly new. The darn thing died. I banged it a few times, but no, it was dead. So I took it off and left it on the dresser.
Okay, so about a couple of hours later, the watch starts working again! Yippee I think and I put it back on. Within 1/2 hour, the watch stops again, dead. So irked, I took it off, yelled at it... and put it back on the dresser vowing never to wear the damn thing again.
So, that was about 3 months ago.
And you know what? That same day I took it off again, it started working again and keeping PERFECT time. (and it is still, to this day, WORKING perfectly!) How do I know? Because, every darn day I look at that watch, and it is working just fine, laying there on the dresser. But if/when I put it on, it will stop.
Some guy at Radio Shack, said his Father in Law is like that with watches but only with dial watches. (which I have). So he told me to try using digital watches. I don't like digital watches.
Whatever.
I just don't wear watches anymore.
And I had like 3. Even a Tag Heuer stainless steel. And it happened to each one.

Irks me like heck!

Oh and I am also a klutz.
I can be walking along, NOTHING on the floor, and I will stub my toe or ram my toe into the corner baseboard of a wall, even if I was not walking in that direction.
And it hurts, lemme tell you.

I don't really destroy stuff, although I used to (and still do) drop my phone all the time, but I finally bought a really good rubberized case for it so now it just bounces across the concrete and is fine. What I do have problems with is anything computerized...until my husband the computer programmer walks by. Then it is fine. He doesn't even have to touch it, but as soon as I say, "Matt, I have been having this problem and I have done x y and z to fix it and..." then he walks over and it is suddenly perfectly fine and I look like an idiot. I also trip on the stairs a lot.

nothing. i suck like that.

I destroy everything... Nothing specific terribly consistently, but a lot of various things randomly. UGGGHHH....

@Mrslavallie - I had the same problem you do with the ear buds (plus they made my ears hurt) but I recently picked up a pair that not only doesn't hurt, but actually stays in!! They're called "yurbuds" and I picked up a "women's" pair (smaller ear pieces) at Target. So far, I LOVE them. They're designed for athletic wear, so they don't even fall out when I'm running.

Pedometers. I keep them in my pocket..and proceed to wash them regularly. They are linked to my health insurance.

I am totally with the whole electronic screen destroyer. My Kindle now has some war wounds (it took me almost a year to do it - a record for me). I had an android that I swear I had to replace about 3 times because the screen shattered. One time it was only in my pocket and sha-zam.
I am also a klutz with Saran Wrap. Seriously - that stuff won't stick to anything if I'm around. It morphs into itself so I can't even get a decent piece.

Coffee cups.

I've decided that I can't become too attached to any mug. It will end up broken. I had brought back a lovely cup from Santorini, Greece...handmade on a pottery wheel, the same color blue as the water there...the cat knocked it over and broke it. I was so sad. :-(

SHOES! I will scuff up a great pair of shoes the FIRST time I wear them. And I'm also a manicure killer Lilly's mom! My best french tip manicure was a gel set I got last summer, then I totally tore up my natural nails by leaving it on too long. Sad, just sad.

I was prepared to say that I am one of those people that honestly...just being honest...never breaks, loses, or destroys anything...and it drives me nuts when my less than absolutely careful husband does.

But I did think of one thing...belt loops. All of my pants and jeans have holes or rips near the beltloops, because I am constantly using them to pull up my pants or hanging my keys on them so I won't lose them, etc. ;)

And ONE time...ONCE...I broke our DVD player because I put it on the ground, stood on the TV stand to reach something or do something (I can't even remember), and then promptly jumped backwards off the TV stand and right on to the DVD player...which I had just put there. I really, really felt like an idiot. I guess that negates my first thought and first paragraph.

(A bit off the subject, but I've tried ear buds and I can't get them to stay in my ears...not quite sure how that's done!! So I wear a pair of old-school gigantic headphones and people give me funny looks when I am mowing, so I'd really like to know how you do it...)

Sunglasses and purses.
I refuse to buy expensive ones because I'm too h*** o* them. I need for hem to be relatively expendable.
