Honda Odyssey Owners -- Seat Belt Question

Does anyone know how to get the strange third row seatbelt (goes straight from the ceiling down to the seat) undone? There is no button to push to unlock it and our daughter managed to lock it up. I already checked the owners manual for our 2005 model and there's nothing about it. I have tried pushing in to the rectangular hole but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Hope someone here might know! Thanks in advance if you do. I need to collapse the back seat tomorrow and can't do it until I figure this out.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Alison C solved it! I had been using a finger nail to push in the indent, but a key did the trick. My seat belt is unbuckled! Yeah!

It is very simple to take it out. All you do is take the same buckle of the seatbelt and push the corner of it in the rectangular hole and that should release it. Hope this can help you.

I know you already found a solution with the key, but the way you're supposed to do it is use the metal buckle part and push it into the little rectangular space and it just pops it right out. (Guys at the dealership showed me on my Pilot when I bought it.)

I know you made it work using the key, but there is a chance that's h*** o* the key. The guy Barefoot Mama spoke to at the dealership had it right. The seatbelt is designed to be released using that metal clip or "tounge". It fits perfectly and you don't have to juggle your keys or anything else to release it.

I have a Honda CR-V and had the same problem! I had to ask the guys at the dealership to show me how to do it at my last oil change, it is very tricky. The guy that showed me did not use a key, I think he used the actual metal part that you click in to release it, if I remember correctly. You'd think it would be easier!

I believe it takes a key or a coin ... did you figure it out?

I have a kia, but the same kinda thing it sounds like. I use my key and put in a small slit on the side of the buckel thing. Hope this helps. I think it took me awhile to figure it out also.

Well, you may have gotten your answer already but just in case....there actually is a button on the buckle part (I believe it's red) but you have to push it in w/a key & then it will release the buckle. Same for when you use the seatbelt in the front row if you put the extra seat between the 2 front club chairs.

I use my ignition key to push on the hole and it comes apart. Push hard.
