Heat On

So it's cold, rainy and stormy over here in WA.
I am trying to decide if I should turn my heat on low. It can get pretty cold here. They are talking snow already. I love it, because I have decided I look better in fall anyways lol.

Has anyone turned on their heaters yet for winter? Or is it still early for you?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I am so sorry to all the ladies in the hot weather!

Well, I turned it on! Couldnt resist anymore. Its not constantly going, just usually in the mornings to take the chill out.

Its amazing to see what different weather we all have!

We were so sick of the heat we left all the windows open this past weekend when it was in the low 50's!! Slippers, jammies, robes, and a blanket while we snuggled on the couch drinking hot tea. It was AWESOME.

I live in Northern Nevada and there is already snow on the Sierra high peaks. (This is on top of the snow that never melted from last winter!) My house was a comfortable 69 when I got home from school. But, temps are supposed to be in the low 30s tonight, so I popped the heater on (set for 64) so the house isn't frigid when the family wakes up tomorrow.

I also think I look better in fall, so I'm very happy it's an early fall/winter this year. I hope it's not back in the 80s next week!

Wow... sure wish we had some cooler weather here! (Central Texas, near Austin....)

Wait... what am I saying? It is only in the 80's and 90's now during the day, instead of the 100's.... and it is down to the 50's and 60's at night.

Yeah, we're getting some cooler weather, but not enough, nor soon enough.... we still turn on the AC most days..... but at least we don't have to run it all night anymore!

Yes, I have turned on the heat. I am a big baby. Having just moved from Texas to Illinois, I can't handle it being 65 degrees in the house. It will be off this week because we are having glorious weather, but it will be back on soon enough!

We are in Boston and we have cycled from weather in the 80's during the day to all of a sudden high 60's during the day and low 40's at night. Forecast even included some morning frost in low lying areas.Plus we had about a solid week of hard rain, so yes, I turned on the heat just to dry out the dampness. Of course, next weekend it is supposed to be in the 80's. But that is New England - if you do not like the weather, wait a while.

We have had lows in the upper 30's and low 40's so since we had a scare last year when we put off turning on the furnace until Nov 15 when we did it didn't work sop I wanted to ensure if it needed work again I would before really cold weather.

I haven't done that quite yet but I do keep myself wrapped up in a blanket or I'm baking so the oven is on. I'm certain the heat will be on shortly if it is true that snow comes, it's a bit early IMO but thankfully there is no rain today, so far.

Turn it on and get the chill out!

Turned ours on for about an hour two mornings ago to get the chill out (the oven wasn't doing the trick).

Tonight, we turned the air on!

UGH! No wonder I have a cold!

We have had some cool nights nut still 70's and higher during the days. My allergies have been so terrible this year that the idea of opening up the house is a firm no, and our bill has reflected that. I am not going to turn on the heat until I absolutely have to and even when I eventually do we will be keeping it much cooler than what we are accustomed to.

Its 70 here today in AZ and we think its freezing! =) However, having the heater on reaks havoc on my sinuses so all winter I try not to put it on at all. And it does get down to 30 at night! We LOVE it when its cold here! I'm already looking for my long sleeves, pants, real shoes (we wear flip flops most of the year) and scarves and gloves. Yes we wear all that here when its 60 and below! =) So no, we don't put on the heater unless its continually cold which it usually isn't. good luck!

Newbys to the NW don't know there is no date. Our weather can be winter in spring and summer in the fall or a hot April. We also have the false spring in Jan or Feb where for two weeks your wall around in a tee shirt until after dark.
If you are cold turn on the heat.

I'm in NH and I have turned my heat on a few times just to get the chill out because it has been getting chilly here. But I do live in a basement floor apartment so it gets colder down here than other parts of the building and the heat is included in my rent so it wasn't a hard decision for me.

we've had to turn it on at night a few times just to make sure the kiddos dont get to cold. our house is old and the insulation is a joke, so it gets cold kind of fast in our house.
