Having Contractions Should I Go in Yet???

Ok this is so silly but I don't know what to think. Im 38 weeks and due for induction in ten days. Ive had serious Braxton Hicks for the last 6 weeks getting worse as time went by. Two weeks ago I was about 1 1/2 cm dialted alost 2. However I was only 50% effaced and her head wasn't falling down.
About three nights ago I woke up in serious pain like, a BAD period and the next morning my husband said it looked like she had dropped. I felt awful all day . Lots of sharp pains in my pelvis and back. The next day I went to the bathroom and apparently lost my mucus plug. Now I dont know but it was ALOT of stuff!! Then my contractions got worse. I woke up three times in the night and twice during my nap today with contractions that made me sweat and my back hurt and made me sick to my stomache. Ive had those intermittenly today and Ive been starving and very tired!
So now heres the deal, Im having contractions, but not painful ones but they are every five to six minutes apart. I have had about 15 bowels today after not having one for sometimes 3-5 days my whole pregnancy!! The thing is I feel like im just wanting it so bad that im hoping that this is it. Ive been walking and swimming and having sex and drinking raspberry tea for a week trying to move things along. Im a small girl and SHE is already about 7lbs!!!
Does anyone have any advise? I dont want to wait too long and not have the chance for an epidural. My periods are SEVERE and I can't judge this pain. Is it even about the pain???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

False alarm!!! They had no idea what was going on with me, but my cervex hadn't changed at all? How is that even possible? We went home very confused and disapointed. Im a bit concerned now about my actual delivery. The nurse we had was so rough with me when she was checking my cervex she actually made me cry the secong time! I hope she's not the one I get when I go in for the actual thing. Anyway Im just confused and tired of feeling sick. Im still neauseated my back is killing me and Im still having alot of contractions. I feel like my period is starting. Maybe Im just hyper sensative. Well either way she'll be here next thursday. Thanx so much to everyone who responded!!! Its so great to have this site for support!!!

Go, most hospitals with keep you if you are dilated 2 or more and I am sure you are if you were 1 1/2 a week or so ago, expecially with all the contractions.

Go to the hospital now. Far better to respond to a false alarm (though this doesn't really sound like one) then to not respond to the real thing. Let them determine that for you.

I would GO!!! Your body knows what's going on and it sounds like it's tellin you it's time!! Good Luck and Congrats!!! Please don't wait too long, cause with both my kids I didn't know that I was even in labor and when I went in after having so called gas pains I was already 7cm dialated and 70% effaced with both of them!!! I had them both within 4 hours. Again, congrats and good luck!!!

I would say go. It couldnt hurt. With everythin you have said things after losing the plug could go quickly. Better to go too early than too late. Good Luck! :o) And Congrats aswell!

Go now!! I had my baby 5 hours after my mucus plug fell out. If your contractions are that close together...GO!!! You don't want to miss that epidural! I do not think it is a false alarm. It's your body and your baby so if it is a false alarm...WHO CARES! Promise to go now. Good luck and congrats! Your baby will be here soon :) Let us know how it goes!
