Okay this is my second attempt at this. I am very busy with going to school and I seriously need to figure out what to do about my sons costume for Halloween. He really wants to be Mario or Luigi from Super Mario and I can not find a costume anywhere. I also have been trying to find just a red pair of overalls or a green pair but have had no such luck. Has anyone seen a costume like this anywhere or even the overalls. I can do the rest if I have the overalls. Please help me Halloween is coming up soon. I was also wondering if anyone knew of any activities that are going on in area the weekend before Halloween. I have to go to school the night of Halloween so I will be missing my son trick or treating this year. :(
I work at the university--check around campus. I know I saw a flyer for some kind of Halloween event the weekend before Halloween. Also, the Planetarium is having a show on the 27th, Spooky Skies is what I believe its called.
And of course, there's always Boo at the Zoo.
The only idea I have for your overalls is to get some Khaki (or other light color) ones and dye them. of course I'm not sure how they would turn out, but I imagine you could find some used overalls for next to nothing and clothing dye is pretty inexpensive as well. Might be worth a shot.
I don't know where you live, but Mesquite has Pumpkin Fest at City Lake Park on the 20th (Saturday). Its free and should be alot of fun. You can find info about it at www.cityofmesquite.com/parks/specialevents.php.

Amamzon.com has it. Expensive though. Have you googled mario costume or checked ebay.
if you cannot find any overalls you can do it with blue jeans and white suspenders made from wide elastic,
red and green turtlenecks and baseball caps with a big white *L* and *M* on them
