If you do a regular flu shot, then I think this one really isn't different. In fact, I have read that h1n1 will be added to the regular flu shot next year.

I took my soon-to-be 3 yo to get the H1N1 vaccine on Saturday. At first I said I wasn't going to get it, but after my hubby, a physician, explained to me that it's really not a whole new vaccine, just the particular strain added to what they already had, I dropped my opposition. I have not heard of any verifiable side effects, other than the normal injection site pain, etc.

The H1N1 is similar to the regular flu shot, only difference is the strand of Flu. We got our 15 month his shot on Wednesday. I feel the risk of him getting the actual flu is worse than the risk of the vaccination.

We got our shots two weeks ago. My daughter is 20 months. She handled it like a trooper. I would recommend bringing hubby with you to help with your son, though. It took us an hour to get through the line.

I agree with Maureen. Also, our son got the H1N1 vax over two weeks ago and has had no negative side effects. The shot has the deadened strain of the virus whereas the nasal mist has the weakened strain of the virus.

My 2 girls, ages 4 and 21 months, got their shots there 2 weeks ago. They have had no side effects and have been healthy as can be. My little one didn't even cry when they did the shot because she never saw it coming.
