Garage Sale Leftovers - What to Do with Them?

We're having a garage sale this Saturday and there will undoubtedly be a bunch of items left unsold. I don't want it cluttering up my garage, yet I don't just want to dump the stuff in a landfill. Any suggestions?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for all of your great suggestions. We decided to donate our unsold items to Goodwill in McKinney. Our garage sale was a great success but we had lots of good stuff left over so hopefully someone will get good use from them!

If you are still in Mckinney...
1. Faubion Middle School is having a garage sale on the 18th. All money is donated to Relay for Life. All you ned to do is have your stuff priced and drop it off. If you are interested, I will find out where you take the stuff.
2. My sons Boy Scout troop is having a community garage sale in May out of a church. All the money will be donated to a good cause. Let me know if you need more info.

I recently had a yard sale and put the left over items on Craigslist under the "Free" column. It was all gone within 2 hours.

You don't have to "take" it anywhere. If you call the local Boy scouts after the sale, they will come pick it all up and give you a tax receipt!

Good Luck!

Call mission arllington ###-###-#### or the kidney foundation if its not too much stuff (they don't take mattresses, etc). Depending on what you have left, you can also post on the yahoo group freecycle. When I post on there, the stuff is gone in a day or two. Good luck!

CCA, Goodwill, www.freecycle.org
Craigslist for free or really cheap

Or at the very end of your garage sale, start putting stuff in a "free to good home" box and people at the garage sale will take it. It is one less trip for you!

Hi C., if you have kids toys ect I know that Kid to Kid will sometimes buy the stuff that looks new. Or you can take it to good will and donate it or you can give it to a church. Thats what I do with the stuff we dont sell or cant get rid of. Good luck.

Mission Arlington !!!!...........They will come to your home and pick up the items. Call them and make an appointment with them and they can come after the sale.

Take it to Goodwill, Allen Community Outreach, Women's Shelter, etc etc and get a tax benefit.

If you have larger items, call Salvation Army, they come pick up. Some other organizations pick up as well.

Good luck with your sale.

if you're in The Colony or Lewisville...take to CCA or if you're in Frisco....take it to Frisco Resale...I think they both have trucks/vans to come pick stuff up if you have big stuff like furniture or you can just drop it off quickly yourself.
