I'm considering to get a foam matress topper for my back, hoping it will help my pains....
What do you think, do you own one, and think it is worth the money???
Thanks :)

I just got a 2 inch memory foam mattress topper because my hips are killing me when I sleep due to pregnancy. It has helped dramatically. I highly recommend one. In fact, when we are due for a new mattress I will probably buy a memory foam one because I like the topper so much.

I think its worth considering. I got mine from Overstock.com
We love it! I think its time to get another one however. It's not as
spongy as it was when we first got it, which was over 2 years ago.
Good Luck!

I bought one for about $120 at Target for our bed (it's a Cal King bed so of course that size is the most expensive! ugh!). Anyhow, it did help a little to revive our tired mattress. Our mattress is a pillow-top kind, and even though it's only 7 years old with a 20 year warranty, the pillow-top itself is dead AND not covered under the warranty. Bleh.

Anyhow, the memory foam topper did help, but if the underlying mattress isn't so great, it can only help so much. That has been my experience, anyway.

I have two very old mattresses - over 20 years old - and I bought 3" foam toppers for both from Costco. They were about $100 each. I love them. My back has tweaks and I have a herniated disc. I love the way it just cradles me. I have much less back pains. At first (like 4 days) it smells but after that it is wonderful. Good luck.

I got an Isotonic from Bed, Bath & Beyond for bad lower back pain, and its been wonderful. I don't wake up with a stiff back anymore. Here is a link to it: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=113127 I do have a newer, pillow top bed as well & this just makes you sink into it. I recommend it, as I couldn't find anything else to get rid of my back pain.

Well we got one from Sam's Club a few years back. Paid a good price for it and it was good quality. My husband loved it but still was having neck pain. I hated it. Yes it felt great but it was simply too soft. Tried it for over a good year. If your bed is too soft some of your heavier body parts sink lower than the lighter parts causing some misalignment. I cut off my side of the topper leaving just his side. Then we moved a few weeks ago and he took the topper all the way off. Now he's not complaining for any pain anymore. So for us, it wasn't a good thing. But some people swear by them.

We also bought the one from BB&B, and I used the 20% off coupon. We love it and can't stand to sleep on anything else! My husband hasn't woken up sore for years!

Best money we ever spent!

My husband bought a firm mattress before we were married. I felt like I've been sleeping on a plank for years. After seeing a chiropractor, and being pregnant with our second child, he bought one for me as a "present". I LOVED IT. He hated it.

After years of dealing with it, he finally one day cut it in half. My half of the bed has the memory foam topper and his doesn't. We're both sleeping much better! LOL

We have one we purchased at Costco a couple of years ago. We love it, and it completely changed the comfort of our old mattress. It takes some getting used to. At first, I felt very hot and it smells weird. But after about a week, it was great. I also have one of those memory foam shaped pillows. It cradles your neck and aligns your body. I definitely feel a difference using the pillow. Good luck!

They can be really comfortable...but being synthetic, cause increased body heat - so if you're hot natured like my hubby, you'll feel very hot in bed at night. Tempurpedic beds and pillows are the same way--super comfy and supportive but really make your body temps rise.

I got one at wal-mart for fairly cheap... didn't make any difference... A friend of mine got one of the more expensive pillow-toppers for her bed, and she loves it. I think this is one of those things that you will get what you pay for, so if you decide to go for it make sure to get a good one.

YES, YES, YES AND when we finally got a different bed we use it to take on overnighters on the floor. It's more comfy than one of those air mattresses

I have the memory foam 2 inch topper on my bed. The mattress is old, no idea how old but at least a dozen years. (hand me down from mother in law)
It is better then the old mattress but not perfect. I still have soreness upon waking up. I wish I could give you advice, cause I wish I woke up feeling not sore.
