Hello,
I am wondering when is a good timeto start finger foods on my baby? He is 7 and half months he has 6 teeth. What kind of food would be ok at this point? I am still giving him formula of course and baby food. Just want to know if i can do something different?

What can I do next?

The finger foods I started with were the Gerber fruit & veggie puffs. They worked out really well. I just started with the crackers, wagon wheels, and gerber dried friut and corn ... but the puffs are great! There are a lot of fruit flavors and combinations and there is also Corn and Sweet Potatoes.

Hi! I have a 9 month old son and I started him on the bitter biscuits and zieback toast. Then I went to the puffs that Gerber makes. It took him a while but he finally got it! lol Anything that will melt fast in babies mouth is a good start. Hope this helps!

I have 3 of my own children and I started them on finger foods around 6 or 7 months. I gave them anything little and soft, peas, mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, so on and so on. I actually started the mashed taters a month or 2 before. They will make a huge mess with these things, but htey have to learn sometime how to eat and be coordinated. Good luck.

I have an 11 month old and she eats everything and anything. We started at 6 months old. What ever we were eating I would mash up and give to her. At 7 months we introduced her to the Gerber puffs. She really enjoyed those. Cheerios is also a good thing. Any type of fruit or veggies. Just make sure it is soft enough. Fruit cups are also good.

Hi S..
I am a married mom of 2 kids. My youngest will be 9 months on the 26th. I started giving my youngest crackers and bannana cookies at about 6 months. I watch her with them of course. They have gerber puffs, those are good for young ones learning to eat. just experiment a little bit as all kids are different is the best advice I recieved when I asked about it. hope that helps..

I started finger foods as soon as my little one got enough teeth to handle them. I think six teeth is plenty enough to start finger foods. We used the gerber sweet potato wheels i believe and the gerber cookies.
