I'm getting together with my two sisters in a couple of weeks and we are going to take a family photo since this is the first time we have all been together at one time. My oldest sister has 2 teenage daughters (15&16), my younger sister has 1 daughter (11) and 2 young boys (4&6) and I have 2 boys (2&5). I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for some cute\good photo ideas. We are having a hard time agreeing because someone doesn't want to wear this color or that color (i have to say I was one of those people when they suggested white pants) but I was hoping you creative moms out there might have some good suggestions, either of pictures you've seen or pictures you've taken. Thanks in advance for your ideas!!

I LOVE the photos where everyone is either in denim and white or khaki and white with bare feet! We did a shot last year of my daughter and her cousin, both in khakis with bare feet- he wore a blue polo, and she wore a springy green, and those colors looked great in the photo. Have fun!

If you want a more dressy look, how about black on bottom with white shirts? Or black on bottom each with a different colored top? I personally love the jeans and white button down shirt look and yes, those are things that everyone probably always has. How about going to the park in downtown Bartlett by the train station and having the kids on the fun playground equipment with parents posing nearby? The gazebo there is gorgeous too. Or if you have front steps to your house, those always provice a nice gradual incline so that you can see everyone - put a few potted plants/flowers nearby. Hope this helps!

My sister and I did something similar for our mothers day gift for my mom. We had her three girls and my son all wear jeans and white t-shirts. My son wore his white onsie with jeans and the picture turned out great.

We did pictures outdoors in the summer a couple of years ago and did denim and white with bare feet. It was a pretty casual pose and the look varied from person to person (my daughter had a demin dress, my husband and eldest son had white tee shirts and jeans, I had a denim jumper with a white tee, and my youngest son had denim shorts/overalls with a white tee). It turned out really neat and was a nice contrast to the green background. We also did this with the grandchildren (there are 14 of them) for my M-I-L. It turned out very cute.

We did family pictures last year. We worn solid black with no shoes and used a black background. The pictures turned out fantastic! You really notice the people and not the clothes.

I too have seen the denim and white. We did a large family photo with kakis ( a little more formal) and we had the choice of blue or green on top. I went with with the outdoorshots and people still had a choice. Make sure that you do some fun shots. Also, don't worry about making everyone smile in every pictures. Some of our best pictures were candids done by the photographer while we were trying to get posed. We also enjoyed the silly ones. (boys vs girls, oldest to youngest etc)

We did a family picture with my 2 sisters and our kids. We did blue, white, and khaki. It worked out well...looked nice and we all had something already that we could wear.

We have done jeans and white shirts for ours and they turned out pretty well. I had my daughter in pink shoes and my son in blue shoes.
